I know how to use ifoedit to get the main movie to start up upon disc insertion, but what do I have to edit to get the movie to loop back to the beginning when it is done? Sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find it in a search of the forums.

Do you want it to go back to the root menu or play the movie again after it ends?

I would like it to play the movie again.

There is a site for this list of DVD9 or 5. It's at www.angelfire.com/zine2/dvdinfo. Take a look!

I got Maid in Manhatten to replay again but I'm having problems working with My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Though I haven't got a generic fix, my problem is that I kept menus in both. I believe I have a better chance to make it replay again if I didn't have any menus. Are you are doing a movie-only?

@VampHuntD

Your link doesn't work. What is this list about anyway?

Way off thread, so 2COOL...To start the movie automatically upon insertion, I have been editing VIDEO_TS.IFO /VMGM_MAT /First Play PGC /Pre Command to (JumpTT) Jump to title 1 or whatever title. Can I do something similarly to start the movie again when it is done playing? Or is this going to be very disc dependent? If it is disc dependent, would a movie only disc made with IFOEdit be same command from disc to disc?

I knew about the jumping to Title in First Play PGC. I was just working on the post commands when the movie ended so that it would replay the title again. I do have some more theories to test but you didn't answer my question on you doing a movie-only or not?

Edit: sorry, I didn't answer your other question. Yes, it will be disc dependant if your movie had menus. I had encountered different navigations in different DVDs and that is to be expected. DVDs are authored a million ways.

If you do a movie only, it'll be a lot simpler as you don't have any jumps to menus, just titles. Optimistically, there could be a generic procedure but I need to test it more.

If the movie is one-sequential (single PGC for entire movie), use the command LinkTopPGC (20 01 00 00 00 00 00 09) as the only post command (remove any existing commands).
If there are more PGCs chained together use a jump to the first PGC. This shouldn't be confused with seamlessly branched variations of the movie, each variation will have its own PGC, and can be looped with the LinkTopPGC command.
Menus don't matter unless you want to go back to the menu, but if all you want is endless looping of the movie once in the movie the menues are no longer a consideration.

@mpucoder

I was using that LinkTopPGC in my Post Command for My Big Fat Greek Wedding but you see, there are Pre Commands in my main title which take me back to the main menu. This is how this DVD was authored. Now if I created new IFOs to get rid of the menus and it's commands and corrected the chaptering, then doing the LinkTopPGC will definetly work without problems. This I believe is the generic way of doing an endless movie.

Hadn't thought about pre commands doing that, strange way to program. Is it possible to remove the pre commands and still watch the movie?

Well, not necessarily all but keep just one and make it a "Break" command. The reason I left a pre-command because of my LinkTopPGC in Post Commands. I haven't tested a LinkTopPGC with no Pre Commands yet. Maybe it'll work, maybe not.

update: If LinkTopPGC is Post Command #1, movie will play again with NO Pre Commands. "Break" Command will still work as it bypasses any following Pre Commands but it looks better to have none.

OK, sounds like movie only is my best bet for a generic solution. Where do I find the post commands you guys refer to and how do I put in LinkTopPGC (20 01 00 00 00 00 00 09) as a post command?

Go to your movie's IFO / VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1 / PGC Command Table. You will see your Post Command area. To input the LinkTopPGC, you need to hexedit. Double-left click on Post Command line to bring up HexEdit module. Click your cursor in inside module and enter in [20 01 00 00 00 00 00 09] and press OK to exit. To check to see you new Post Command, click on another menu and click back in VTS_PGC_1 and check to see that you now have a LinkTopPGC command present.

I used IFOEdit to generate the VIDEO_TS & VTS_01.ifo files for my movie only. When I went to VTS_01.IFO / VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1 / it showed "There is no PGC Command Table". What to do now?

Just got home from work. I'll try to make up a quick guide for you after I test it on one of my movies.

@Digifreak

I decided to post the guide in it's own thread. Here's the link. Movie-only DVD Playing in an Endless Loop Guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=294369#post294369)

Let me know if this works for you.;)

I really appreciate the guide you made 2COOL for endless loop movie only. I did however have some problems with it. I generated the movie only IFOs and in my example not all cells for PGC_1 were assigned chapters as shown in step 10 so I moved VOBs and VIDEO_TS.* to "IFO" folder according to step 11. I performed step 12-18. Step 14 put my chapter corrected IFO in the "movie only" folder. After step 18 it says "From now on, you will be working with your files in your "IFO" folder.Go to next step." Performing steps 19-24 just resaves the IFOEdit generated IFO not the IFOUpdate corrected IFO saved at step 11. Anyway, aside from the chapter update issue, I set my Post Command Table as you show in step 22. My IFOEdit player is no longer working, so I have been using PowerDVD 4 but playing the movie does not loop back. Should it still work with PowerDVD "Open DVD file on hard disk" and selecting the VIDEO_TS? Or do I need to burn a disc to test it out?

Thanks for catching that error for me and I apologized for my error. I was actually only testing it on a DVD with all Cells assigned a chapter and I believe I was also in a rush. There is manual fix for it and I will write one out when as soon as I find a DVD similar to yours to test on. In the mean time, don't burn your DVD unless you can use a DVDRW.
