Wich kind of codecs do I need (Software)

Is there any kind of utility that checks wich kinds of codecs does an avi file needs and if possible could check the integrety of the file.

It also happens to be in the download section here under AVI Editing tools.

Yeah I did look for it went to the download page and Edit - Find (On this page) Gspot but didnt found anything I did the same procedure in the divx download website.
