Hi
I'm making a self-ectract patch for AutoRV9. Here what will be icluded:
AVISynth Switcher from x2real (www.lalternative.org) w/
AVISynth 2.5.0 DLL
AVISynth 2.5.1 DLL
AVISynth 2.0.7 DLL
AVISynth 2.0.8 DLL
MPEG2DEC.DLL was Mpeg2Dec3.dll
SimpleResize.dll
Cnr2.dll
Convolution3D.dll
Decomb.dll
Real Producer MileStone 6 Gold
Media Player Classic
I'll test it with Jackass DVD Volume 3 with Volume 2 will be completed. I'll release my pack after my tests.
Sirber

producer don't work. I've failed :(
kilg0r3
10th April 2003, 11:00
just download the latest milestone, _delete_ the old version, then point autorv9 to the new version.
where did it fail? in my test the first pass ran until i Ctrl+C-ed out off it.
Sirber

AutoRV9 works with milestone6, but not with avitynth 2.5.

Hey sirber, where are you my friend? :),remember my little hack I've mentioned a few days ago? Well, it's done..
The following changes where made:
All Resize filters are working now (including LanczosResize) SimpleResize filter was wiped out and replaced with MarkFD's "FastBilinearResize" (amazing filter!)
All sharpen filters are fully useful including (all unfilter presets)
All denoise filters replaced with presets like those in GK-0.28
All convolution3d presets are wiped out and replaced with 4 movieHQ /LQ /animeHQ/LQ presets.
Added Fluxsmooth filter, its now loaded when you click on "Reduce Noise Amp" label.
All color filters are fully useful and although "Tweak.dll" is loaded, it's not in use anymore.
Anime filters replaced with Msmooth beta 2 (HighQ mode) and Deen b2 by MarkFD
I've tested it quite intensively, works like a champ, I'm using it among with latest Producer Gold, none a single problem, check this out.;)

@Ramirez
You are my HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was trying x2real... I was desperate(désespéré in french)... Please forgive me...
@D.C
You are my god too :) AutoRV9 is far the best software for legally ripping our bought DVDs.

Damn the server is SO slow!!! :scared:

Just out of curiosity, at what point does one recognize that AutoRv9 does not work with AVS 2.5?
The point is, two days ago I tried for the first time to do an anamorphic encode, and, at the same time exchanged avs 2.08 against 2.5. Of course, I also exchanged the relevant plugins in AutoRV9 and renamed Mpeg2dec3.
The strange thing is that all seemed to go well; previews worked andproducer started and continued the first pass. I didn't let him finish because i needed to change the command line in order to get anamorphic resolution. Yet, as i said, until I manually closed the window (7%) there were no Problems.

Maybe I'm just too dumb to change it myself... :scared:

Bug found!!!
smtp32d.dll is called as smtp32dx.dll for Lanzcos Resize, so it don't work.
kilg0r3
11th April 2003, 14:42
1.) how did you find that ou?
2.) smtp...dll whom is he mailing to :)
3.) That's why it worked for me: I always use bicubic resize. I never really understood what's so great about Lanczos. Making frame by frame comparisons of source frames i could not see a _any_ difference.
Sirber
11th April 2003, 14:48
@kilg0r3
1) by using it ;)
2) It supposed to keep more details than bicubic.

Sirber please don’t touch this file!! "smpt32dx.dll" it's just a placeholder!! ,lancsozResize it’s a build-in resize filter of Avisynth2.5 you don't have to load it externally!, now you guys seem to forget that I don't actually have D.C's sources, and every changes I made applied using Hex editor only, so I couldn’t done everything I wanted without compromising application integrity. Now kilgr03 would you mind to explain to me what the hell does the following means "just out of curiosity, at what point does one recognize that autorv9 does not work with avisynt2.5" are you calling me a liar?!!! Have you downloaded my repack? Have you tested it, I've encoded 2 movies so far using both Lanczosresize and FastBilinearResize works flawlessly.i'd suggest you to download it end test it, rather then jump into wrong conclusions!
Btw: "smtp32dx.dll" it's just a renamed "TemporalSoften.dll" filter, this is done as a workaround only.

Very nice and cold replay, bravo...
The trouble with you is that you seem not to appreciate others people hard work,and it's was hard let me assure you,it's took many hours of research and extensive searches Plus very annoying work with hex editor during my free time after work, I haven't done it for fame, my only goal was to give back something to the forum which gave me incomparably more then I could ever return.
Sirber

I renamed it to what it wants, and works fine now. If we load a filter that is not use, it wont interfere.

I wasn't referring to your version of AutoRV9 at all, and, I wasn't stating anything. The sentence you are reffering to is in the form of an indirect question.
However, I must admit, I wasn't very clear in my formulation. So I will try again. Although the point is very trivial and I fear to bore everybody to death.
Sirber stated that he had tried to use AutoRV9 with AviSynth 2.5 and that the attempt failed. 'producer don't work'
I stated that I had attempted to do the same thing but had not experienced sirber's problems. For this reason, I inquired _where_ in the encoding process sirber's problem had occurred.

Hey Sirber what's up? :),sorry for that "smtp32dx.dll" thing, dunno why I've choose that name, it's was completely random really .I've reuploaded this package again it's should be fine now,anyway have you tried that MarkFD's "FastBilinearResize"? I was in shock
By the quality that this resizer produces, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
@kilgro3
Indeed, you where very unclear in your "formulation" and the point is not so trivial for a none native English speaker like my self, however I've could address you politely for additional clarification on that matter without loosing my tempore, in other words I am sorry if I came out like a personage of that DVD title that Sirber currently encodes, which is off course JACKASS. :)
Peace
Sirber
11th April 2003, 22:54
@Ramirez
Is FastBilinearResize producing a good image quality? It so, I'll use it instead of bicubic or lanzcos (I never spell it right :( ). Also, no problem with the DLL, a little rename et voilà! producer is I think ~25% faster using YV12.
I have a little problem (@Karl):

New build of producer 9.2 m-stone 1 is up, dunno what kind of changes where made in this build but this one seem to be a speed demon, currently encoding K-19 and IMO encoding speed is across 22FPS,way to go helix!!.
Btw: Sirber, all these errors you've mentioned earlier are gone now. Errors: 0 warnings: 0 :)

I always kept reading about the great Lanczos quality, and once I was able to see a slight difference for a still image, but never really for video, especially after compression. I was a little worried about how it affected compression performance, so I did run a test a while back:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43487
After this I use neutral bicubic most of the time, but as you can see from the compression results and how Lanczos takes more bits to compress, it is quite clear it does preserve some more details. I just could not see any difference myself, even on our HDTV demo 42" HDTV plasma display. The clips I tried were standard resolution though.

@Sirber: What is the problem? If you are concerned about the "Error" message, don't be. It is really just a warning that the AVS file is not a valid AVI file, since it does not have the RIFF header. Producer still reads it just fine.

I am very happy to see this. There's nothing like close to real-time fps numbers for encoding. RV9 core encoding by itself has always been pretty fast and did not really change much in this release, it's just all those filters, resizers, and color conversions... We must be on the right track!

Hi Karl, why there is no such option in producer to show current encoding speed,something like Encoding: XXFPS. The reason I'm asking is because when I wrote 22FPS it's was my own Pretty Rough approximation based nothing but the hunch (it's was very speedy though) is there any undocumented command line switches we can use in order to be able to see such statistics? Is there any plans to implement it in upcoming releases of producer?. I guess its isn't so hard.)
Thanks! :)

Excellent idea, I will suggest it for Helix Producer 9.2. x2real already has such a statistics included. It looks very nice.

I've notice that the current build also produces a very sharp output at 900kbps and up almost no blurring occurs, I've encoded "Swordfish" recently and the resulted rip was amazingly sharp!! 720x288res, I know, the source is very clean and the movie is only 1.30 but still I couldn't achieve that kind of quality with previous builds, can somebody confirm my observation too?.
P. S:
the way RV9 handles Walls,IMHO its like a crime against humanity!, its doesn't matters which resolution or bitrate I'm choosing, the walls always coming out awfully smoothed out,it's looks like RV9's P.P fails to distinguish between noise and complex textured object such as granite wall, is there anything you guys at helix can do about it?
I've done a very little comparison between RV9 and WMV9 vcm 9(only one frame), and its looks like WMV9 vcm handles that kind of thing significantly better.

Also, WM9 is more like the DVD, and sharper than RV9. Look at the stairs and the cop's face.
