I am a bit confused about everything I read on Divx 5.02. I have used the pro features: b-frames, strong psychovisual modeling and even gmc, since I have read somewhere that the result would be better this way.
After looking here in the Gordian Knot forum, I see that many of you says that turning off these features will give a better result.
So ??? What SHOULD I do?
The general opinion is something like this (note that this is just my view of it):
B-frames: Always use unless you're getting undersized files, in which case you may want to uncheck it.
GMC: I'd say most people leave it unchecked, but some check it.
QP: Most or everyone leave it unchecked.
Psychovisual: Most leave it at none, a few use it at various settings.
Preproccesing: Most leave it at none, very few use it at various settings.
Personally I only use B-frames, in my view the other settings either do too little for me to notice, or they actually decrease quality.
