One moment.
Both VCD and SVCD support 44100 hz, stereo MPEG 1.0 Audio Layer 2 (so MP2). VCD just STEREO 224 kbs, SVCD instead also from 32 kbs to 386 kbs Stereo or Joint St.
Many DVD players, plays also SVCDs with 48000 hz sample rate. Make a CDRW and try yourself if works.
SVCD can also support MPEG 2.0 multichannel 5.1 but there are few DVD players that support it (it's different from ac3 or dts).
