like others that have posted, i have received the following error when importing an m2v into maestro:

temporal referencs in gop #1237 (zero-based) are out of sequence

this m2v was ripped directly from dvd using dvd decrypter. unlike most who are faced with this issue, this error occurs without any post processing and this is a pure unmodified m2v stream from the dvd. i know the standard response to these questions are to refer to other threads that pertain to this error but i have already done that (i promise)! : ) i have tried using pvastrumento because it sounds like it should work in correcting gop errors but for some reason, the tool does not like my illegal stream. perhaps someone knows how i can alter my stream to get pvastrumento to properly recogize the stream (i have tried using tmpgenc to mux the m2v and ac3 to make an mpeg but that didn't help)? i also tried trimming off the end of the file using tmpgenc's cut tool but the error always occurs at 24% import into maestro so i was pretty much grabbing at straws. i have tried muxing and demuxing hoping that tmpgenc had built in corrective/magical powers. i have also tried restream (http://shh.dvdboard.de) with no luck. nothing seems to work. admittedly, i am very green to dvd authoring but i have never encountered this problem in any of the rips i have done so far. i would assume that the video stream directly from the dvd would not have these gop errors.

any help would be *greatly* appreciated.

..try encoding it with CCE at GOP settings M=3 N/M=4 that fixed this problem in my case, I think.
But as this problem appears without re-encoding I would first check my HD(s) for corruption -you're not using a RAID, do you?

i do not believe the problem lies in my harddrive. i have re-ripped to two different harddrives with the same error. although i was trying to avoid reencoding, i will try it and let you know how it goes. thanks for responding.
