I have captured some movies using a happauge Nova-t which records straight to mpeg2. I can go straight to ulead dvd workshop and burn them without it having to convert the files which it does but it still multiplexes the a\v. When I create the VIDEO_TS\AUDIO_TS structures and burn them to disk or play back in ifoedit the audio is badly out of sync, I assume this is down to the multiplexing??
I have tried spliting the audio and video in tmpeg and creating a dvd structure in ifoedit but with the same results.
Anyone have any ideas?

try pvastrumento to correct the av delay and possible errors (it may get out of sync because of framedrops) in the stream.
you can demux the file or create a new mpeg stream, whatever your authoring software requires.

Could someone explain to me how frame drops are handled in MPEG-2 streams? Avery ripped me a new one because I had thought that the frame could be marked as dropped, but apparently this isn't allowed in the specs (MPEG-1 at least). The only way that was mentioned was to basicaly stop and restart the stream. But, I don't see how that would be feasible if there were many random frame drops in a short amount of time.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't know if frame drops are an issue but I will check out pvastrumento.
When I play back the captured mpeg2 file before doing anything with it in windvd it's fine though. When I have run it through dvd workshop and try and play it in ifoedit the audio starts over a black screen then the picture will start about 5-8 secs later? I would have thought frame droppping would cause it to go out over time im fairly new to mpeg2 capture though :scared:
I used to have a regular wintv card and that would drop frames all over the place and would be very noticeable during playback although I could still burn vcd's without to a\v sync probs. I'll give pvastrumento a go.
Cheers
You can try ds.jar, too. It's excellent (probably better than PVAstrumento) and fast (although written in Java).
