I was curious about what the quickest time is that any member here as
been able to encode a DivX movie. Also exactly which hardware was used
and what type of DVD was converted plus movie length, codec, settings
ect...
Just how fast does a 3 Ghz P4 take to do a movie? (AMD fan myself though.) The reason I ask is because even though my system
is serving me well at the moment I have a need for more speed.
I want to upgrade to a nForce2 board (Asus or Chaintech) Asus has
had better reviews, but the Chaintech just looks so cool with
it's rounded yellow IDE cables.
I still have a 1.4 AMD Thunderbird, Gigabyte mobo with 512 MB
PC133 RAM (yes...yes) 1x 40 Gig 7200rmp HHD, 1 x 120 Gig 7200rmp HHD
(both Western Digital) GeForce4 MX440 (used mainly for TV out) 19"
Viewsonic monitor and Leadtech sound card based on C-Media CM8738 chip with optical and coax SPDIF out.OS is WinXP Pro SP1.
For watching my movies it's all hooked up to my home cinema setup with
a 28"LG Flatron TV,Yamaha A1090 DDigital amp and B&W speakers all around.
