Hi

How can I load a AVS file in Windows Media Encoder 9? It said that it's an unsupported format.

Choose 'both device and file' under source selection.

then browse for file and load the avs.

MS released a VCM version of wmv9, and the quality is equivalent to RV9 using 1pass CBR/VBR @ 768kbps. Use Virtualdubmod to access the AVS and config wmv9vcm.

RV9 post processing smooth out the playback which makes it look nicer than wmv9; However, wmv9 retains much more details over RV9: Nevertheless, the smoothing can be overcome by tweaking the source in AVS before sending over to RV9 encoder. This make me wish that Real would do something like this for RV9 encoding as well. I do like that anamorphic resize option in RV9 :D

Could someone compare RV9 with no filters at 300kbps? Any source.
