Where can I find articles with discussions on why and how GKnot compressibility tests should be done?
Is there any howto about this issue?

Do you mean specific for Gordian Knot? In that case you'll find instructions in Doom9's guide.

If you're talking in a more general case you'll find a lot of posts on the subject if you search, mostly in the DivX 5 forum. You may also check the documents that comes with Jonny's program (DivX5Enc, or more recently Enc).
