of some reason Divx 3 has "stopped working" , i mean that it don't compress my video files in Virtualdub or nandub, the come out uncompressed.
I can play my divx movies though, so it's nothing wrong with that, just when i encode.
And i can't uninstall it either, when i try it says "installation failed" is there anyway to do this manually?
this also happens when i try to reinstall it, when it copies the files. Can be something wrong with my HD cause is sounds relly weird during the process!
i would really appreciate some help.

ok download divx3.11a package from the doom9 site and just install it over the old one - from what u have explained nandub cant access ur codec therefore it is not installed(so u cant uninstall something thats not there).
re-boot your computer - reinstall the codec - re-boot your computer.
when u install click yes to everything "including XP the logo test"
this should solve the problem.
NOTE: u dont need divx3 codec to play back the encodes - divx5.xx for example can play them - just because u can watch them doesnt mean that it is installed.

i've just reinstalled windows a week ago, so that's really weird!
about hardware problem, you mean with my hd? it could be that, but it's not a very big problem... i guess i could start using divx 5, is it good? should i begin with the schizo release or just the orginial 5?
and relly, what is the big different, if you got some links that might help me explain that, please let me know.
thanks alot!

I'd advise you to make a quick backup of your drive, or you'll get the same as I got : one day, it'll scratch like a cat too loud and your files will be lost ;)

your hard drive is starting to fail.
back up b4 its too late.
as for hard drives, western digital hard drives never seem to give problems, unlike how maxtors tend to do... =(
how about a 120GB Caviar ???
