hello, i got an avisynth error during conversion a pal dvd to svcd
title is "mars attacks".
this title is one of my dvd i use for testing and i have converted it many times before with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 without any error.

this time, just for testing, i've coded it with one pass vbr cce 2.67.09 trial and approx at 25 mins avisynth show this error

avisynth: caught an access violation at 0x0c43922, attempting to read from 0x0c334832

this is my first attempt with avisynth 2.51, i used that one is included in dvd2svcd 1.1.3 release with included 2.51 plugins

this is my dvd2svcd log file. subtitle ripping is not included.
my pc is an nforce2+athlon xp 2600+ 512 mb ddr ram double bank

temps of the processor and chipset are low and i not have any error in my memory (just tested).

better revert back to avisynth 2.0x ??

1. Did you install the Avisynth 2.51 which was included in dvd2svcd's installation?

2. Try using the standard "BilinearResize" script in the frameserver tab.

yes,i use the standard avisynt 2.51 that came with dvd2svcd 1.1.3 installation.

for the 2nd question, ok, i can try again without RB's autofitcd plugin but i know that it works very well with 1.1.2/avisynth 2.07

i will try with other resize dll too

strange that this problem occour only converting the full dvd
i've made variuous tests with some chapter (approx 15mins of film) using movie lenght tab deselecting all chapter but leaving chapter 1,2,3,4 and the conversion ends successfully.

forget my strange english :)

many thanks for your great tool!!

Are you using latest build 1.4 of AutoFitCD? The above resize doesn't look right, I don't think this movie has actually 73 pixels of vertical borders. There is an issue in shh's FitCD that can cause incorrect source cropping, worked around that in AutoFitCD 1.4.

Are you using latest build 1.4 of AutoFitCD?

sure, v. 1.4

You may want to un-install DVD2SVCD and re-install it with Avisynth 2.08 instead.

Hmm, what did the preview say for film pixels and left/top borders (before you click on "AutoFitCD >>")? Maybe it didn't detect the borders properly yet and you should have clicked "New Frame" a couple of times?

--------------

may be the borders threshold too low? i set 25
i've pressed new frame many times.... and every time the film size was changed.

anyways, the threshold value i used is the same that i've used with dvd2svcd 1.1.2 and it never crashed.

just for testing, tonight i want start a new conversion with pair value in borders pixels.

thanks.
P.S. RB..
i like the eclcce feature for changing bitrate for credits... much better that cut off them all.But it seems that dvd2svd don't take care of it. there is any way to use this feature from dvd2svcd?
thanks again.

About the credits bitrate settings: read the CCE 2.66 guide in the advanced forum (sticky).

Hi, Shutt1e.

Maybe it is not the place to ask the question of speed, but I am very impressed with you "CCE Max Speed: 4.970".
The best I have is 1.7 with my pc KT400+athlon xp 2400+ 512 mb ddr ram, AVS251, CCE267 (VBR 4 pass, q-ty 17), WinXP (NTFS).
I wonder - why the speed is so low in my case? Any advices?

That speed is due to the Avisynth Error. If avisynmth had performed well, his speed would be much lower. When Avisynth fails, no video is being rendered through Avisynth hence the speed increase.

That speed is due to the Avisynth Error.
edit----

true. my normal speed is from 1.9-2.4 depending by source on my athlon 2600+

anyways i have resolved that problem, probably was caused by the incorrect value of video cropping,as suggested by RB

i've repeated the encoding using even values rounded by 2 and it's ended succesfully.
