View Full Version : 1.1.3b1 - CCE bombs as soon as loaded avs

I just tried the new build but could not get past this crash. It opens CCE (using v2.5) inputs the path of the avs file and CCE just closes itself. DVD2SVCD then just sits there and crashes.

I uninstalled and reinstalled 1.1.2 and everything's fine again. Any ideas why this is happening?

Here's the log file if it helps:

Thanks for any help.

I can try to help you if you post you avs script, and also let us know what happens when you try to play the avs script in windows media player. Is there a red on black error shown? Try to open the avs script in VirtualDub also. BTW, the avs script I am referring to is: AviSynth_Script_file.avs

Dang - avs script got filed in the Recycle Bin. I'll re-install 1.1.3 when this encode is done and post it for you then. Thanks for helping :)

hi there,

i ecountered exactly the same problem here, cce starts, fills in the pathes to the avs files and closes itself and dvd2svcd remains crashed... unfortunately i already deleted my avs files, but i'll do some encoding later and i'll post the files then.

avisynth 2.5, cce 2.5, the avisynth plugins, fitcd and autofitcd 1.4 are installed properly...

any ideas whats happening?

i just started the encoding of a 4:3 Vanilla Sky teaser just to see if it perhaps is a format probleme, but the same thing happened again...

the avs file plays without any problems with the wmp.

hm, if i activate "Add ResampleAudio" in the Frameserver Tab cce works like a charm although i use an athlon xp which is sse compatible?!

Import("D:\ripping\video\RESAMP~1.AVS")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.5PL\Mpeg2dec\MPEG2D~1.DLL")
mpeg2source("D:\ripping\source\DVD2AV~1.D2V")
# -= AviSynth script by FitCD v1.1.2 =-
BicubicResize(448,416,0,0.6,12,72,698,432)
AddBorders(16,80,16,80)
ConvertToYUY2()
ResampleAudio(44100)

Thanks for the input eternal.

Hmmmm, well I still haven't got round to re-installing 1.1.3 yet but I will try this resample audio option. I am, however, dubious as I don't even have an AMD processor - I'm on an Intel 845 chipset with a P4 2.0Ghz.

As your AVS script plays OK in WMP I assume mine will too

Anyone got any guesses as to why this happens yet?

Anyone got any guesses as to why this happens yet?
Not yet as it works perfectly for me. However, we will get there sooner or later.

This may be important to the community so maybe it would be best if we concentrate on this and put your encoding to the side until we figure it out. Always have "do not delete file" checked and do not delete anything. We need to see your AviSynth_Script_file.avs file from right after the crash.

Next time, as soon as this happens, stop, copy the AviSynth_Script_file.avs file to a safe place (out of your encode dir) so any subsequent actions will not change it. Try to play it in WMP 6.4 and report any errors. I suspect you will not see any. Verify if the ResampleAudio(44100)line is in the script.

Oh, for testing, check "don't make images" in the cd image tab. This will make sure the first thing CCE sees is AviSynth_Script_file.avs (I think so at least). Also, just pick one chapter in the dropdown in the Conversion tab so it will not take anytime at all.

oh well, it did some testing lately and my result is, everything works fine as long as i enable "Add ResampleAudio".

i followed your instrcutions ddog and the avs file is still the same as the one posted above by me.

LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.5PL\Mpeg2dec\MPEG2D~1.DLL")
mpeg2source("D:\ripping\source\DVD2AV~1.D2V")

Thanks for looking into this DDogg. I will re-install 1.1.3 as soon as I get home (just checking my mail before I go to work).

I will post my avs file and results of Resample Audio being on/off in about, oo, 9 hours.

PS. Working Sundays blows

i spent some more time in testing different settings, but the result is still the same. but for now i am happy that it works with the add resample audio function enabled. over and out.

Thanks, eternal, I hope it is something simple as that for idbirch2.

I have the same problem here. It opens CCE 2.5, inputs the location of the avs and ... CCE is gone and DVD2SVCD freezes. :(
I tried avisynth 2.08 and 2.51 with no luck. Everything is ok, when I use the "old" version and the avs plays fine in WMP.

avs:
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1\Mpeg2dec\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\MINORI~1\Rip\DVD2AV~1.D2V")
# -= AviSynth script by FitCD v1.1.2 =-
BicubicResize(448,320,0,0.6,3,77,717,422)
AddBorders(16,128,16,128)
ConvertToYUY2()
ResampleAudio(44100)

The same happens when i try to load the avs manually into CCE. I'm sure it has something to do with avisynth...

@ frankt.
That script line is not generated by Dvd2svcd. It would look like:
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.5PL\Mpeg2dec\MPEG2D~1.DLL")

MPEG2DEC.dll is being used instead of MarkFD's MPEG2DEC3.dll (note the 3). /Edit: I think you, perhaps in testing, modified it???

Edit: From the FitrCD docs - "Note that this plugin supports both
AVISynth 2.0.x and 2.5.x but you need to reinstall it after
switching AVISynth versions." So, did ya? :)

OK, it has been a long time so my memory may be faulty, but checking the resample audio box used to decide whether it was left in the encoding script for the full encode or just the first loading sequence. Note: After the ECL file is saved with audio unchecked, the ResampleAudio(44100) line is not longer needed for the actual encode, at least is is no longer needed on any machine I have ever used. It is needed for that initial load of the Script before the ECL is created. WIthout it you get a crash.

Now, it seems, when it is unchecked it is not used even in the loading sequence which causes an instant crash on my machine at least. So, moral is to make sure the ResampleAudio(44100) checkbox in the frameserver tab is checked. I unchecked it and replicated the above problems mentioned on my trusty AMD 1.4 bird. Rechecked it and no problem.

I believe the above information to be correct. D2S will beat me up if it is not. I cower in fear :) I mean, he must be Swedish or something as mean as he is. (Gee, I am cracking myself up tonight) :)

OK I finally got round to testing again - sorry it took so long.

This time I tried encoding a completely different movie. The result was exactly the same - the path of the AVS file is put into CCE and it just closes itself.

Heres the AVS file:

LoadPlugin("D:\PROGRA~1\Video\DVDRIP~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1\Mpeg2dec\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\DVD\Ripped\BA012\DVD2AV~1.D2V")
BicubicResize(720,576,0.0,0.6)

When I installed I chose the option for AVIsynth 2.08 - not 2.5. Also, I am not using any plugins of any kind like that fittoCD rubbish.

Then I thought 'hmmm, I suppose I did just install this version over the top of the old one' so I completely uninstalled and reinstalled - the problem was still there.

Finally, I tried ticking AddResampleAudio and bugger me it worked! Why the hell does this make any difference - I thought this option was only for Athlons (I have a P4).

Anyways, thanks for all the input everyone

@ DDogg

Right. At the moment I'm testing with the new DVD2SVCD and avisyth 2.08 - but the resulting avs looks quite similar.

AviSynth_Script_file.avs
>Import("D:\test\Video\RESAMP~1.AVS")
>LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1\Mpeg2dec\mpeg2dec.dll")
>mpeg2source("D:\test\Rip\DVD2AV~1.D2V")
># -= AviSynth script by FitCD v1.1.2 =-
>BicubicResize(448,320,0,0.6,3,77,717,422)
>AddBorders(16,128,16,128)

ResampleAudio.avs
>function ResampleAudio(clip v1, int rate) {
> v2 = Blankclip()
> v1 = AudioDub(v1,v2)
> return v1
>}

Referring to idbirch2 i checked ResampleAudio. (I never needed it before on this non-athlon machine.)

Edit: From the FitrCD docs - "Note that this plugin supports both AVISynth 2.0.x and 2.5.x but you need to reinstall it after
switching AVISynth versions." So, did ya?
Yes. When I update DVD2SVCD I always uninstall it and delete the hole folder. But I will give it a new try and will report later.

So, in 1.1.3 Build 2, if you're using CCE, checkmark the "Use ResampleAudio" in the frameserver tab.
