View Full Version : Video generation failure

Hi everybody!

After having successfully encoded a few DVD movies with Gordian Knot, I'm faced with the first failure. Basically the problem seems to lie in fact that no video files are generated. I attach a transcript of the log.

Something that might be of relevance is the fact that in the previous encoding the computer crashed during the mix of the movie, credits and audio, operation I had to perform manually. Some cleanup might not have been made, thus now causing problems. However I ignore what and if something may be lurking around :(

I've already reinstalled GK, upgraded to 0.28 alpha 4, installed DivX 5.0.3, installed Robot4Rip and I can't think of what more can I do... (the log was generated before doing all of this, though)

Are there more places where errors are reported other that the log file? (nothing appears on the Event Viewer, btw)

My system is: Intel Pentium III 500 MHz processor, 320 Mb RAM, 32 Gb HD, LG DVD-ROM drive (ID String: "HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B"), Windows XP Professional [en-US] OS

I thank in advance any help you can give me!

I don't know why the log file isn't shown but I've uploaded it to the following URL: http://www.terravista.pt/ancora/1338/log.txt

I am moving this post to the GKnot development forum, as 0.28 is an alpha release.

GK still uses SetCompData there... That's impossible with 0.28...

It looks to me like trying to use 5.0.3 with 0.27...

The use of GK 0.28 alpha 4 and DivX 5.0.3 was one attempt to solve the problem I encountered, also unsucessful.

The problem was found with GK 0.27 with DivX 5.0.2. The provided log was also obtained with this version set.

I don't know if this thread can return to the original forum, though. It seems I should have been more explicit in the problem description. Sorry about that :\
