what would be the easiest way to get dpl or dpl2 compatible wav file on the pc? (i could encode to 5.1 ac3 and then decode with besweet or something, but that sounds kinda loosy if only dpl is interesting...)
tia.
p.s.
dpl stands for 'dolby pro logic'

i think there is an easier way to do what you are describing but i cannot put my finger on it. I would do it just as you have described, encoding the ac3 at a high bitrate. Ac3 is very good and there will be no noticible loss, and very little real loss.
