how do one get 2 Movies on one DVD with IfoEdit ? I have two DVB-Streams and I want to burn them on one DVD. Both streams would fit on one 4,3GB blank disc.
Is there a guide or so ?

Hello,
I've posted the same request some weeks ago without any reply. Either it's too foolish or not possible with IfoEdit, I don't know.
If you have more success, do me a favour and let me know how to do it.

has been answered numerous times. search for "join clips".
http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/joinclip.html is the best guide i have come across. $5 to get to the guides but worth it.

does it take that much to send a few sentences how to do that with ifoedit ? perhaps it's better to do that with a different program. Thanx.

Hi kenma,
I think there is no way to join these two clips only with IfoEdit.
But you can do this with VobEdit:
-copy all the Vobfiles in one directory and renumber them
VTS_01_001.vob ... VTS_00x.vob
-load VTS_01_001.vob in VobEdit and select Edit/Join Clips. Select
a target directory and Vob-Id 1.
Vobedit will create a new set of Vobfiles for you. Then you can use Ifoedit to create new Ifofiles.
I hope this will answer your question!

mighty_mike_ki:
there is no guarantee the output will play in the sequence it was intended. from the derrow guide:
- rename just the 2nd set of VOBs. identify the last vob ID used in the 1st set. Then join the 2nd set using vobedit with starting VOB id one more than the last vob id on side 1.
- rename the 2nd set of vobs.
- create new ifos with ifoedit.
i use this method to join 2-3 IMAX movies into 1 DVD. have done 20+ IMAX movies this way with no problems.

- I used the way i've discribed for 4-5 DVD's! Sometimes I'd got problems with the fast foreward/backward function after this procedure. But this can be fixed by an additional run of IfoEdit/VobExtras/Strip Streams and take all streams. So in my cases the procedure worked well!
- I tried the procedure you discribe as well and get also good results. For my next experiments I will test both methods and try to work out differences.
At the moment I'm still beginner in DVD coding and authoring, so thanks for your comment!!!!

I've done several 2 movies to 1 DVDR with DVD2One (movie only) using this method.
Transcode the first movie to folder1 and the second movie to folder2. In folder2, delete the VIDEO_TS files then rename remaining files to VTS_02_X.XXX. Move all the files to folder1. Now you have a folder with 2 movies but you have to modify the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to recognise the second movie.
1. Open VIDEO_TS.IFO with IFOedit.
2. Select VMG_VTS_ATRT 'Number of Video Title Sets' = 2
3. Select VMG_PTT-SRPT 'Number of Title play Maps' = 2
4. Refresh the page and enter the following for Title_2:
Title playback type = 20
Number of angles = 1
Number of chapters = XX
Title set number (VTS#) = 2
Title set Title-number (VTS_TTN) = 1
5. Select VMG_VTS_ATRT and enter the following:
VTS_2: Number of audio streems in Title (VTSTT_VOBS) = # of audio tracks
VTS_2: Number of sub-picture streams in Title (VTSTT_VOBS) = # of subtitles
6. Select the VMG Overview page and specify the audio tracks, and subtitles if any.
7. Click 'Save' then 'Get VTS sectors'.
The DVD will start with the first title. To select the second title, use the player remote.
Hope this helps.

I know this may sound like a dumb or novice question, but this method does not keep the chapters intact, correct? Do you have to demux then remux the video file with a celltimes.txt file?

Are you having chapter problems with both movies? Did you enter the number of chapters in step 4 for the second movie?
I haven't had any chapter problems with this method.

megahurts,
couple of question for you :-)
1) will all the chapters on VTS_02 still works?
2) Will the movie starts the second title when the first title is finished
Thanks

Chapters will work in both movies, as will audio and subtitle tracks.
Some players will start the second movie after first movie plays.
Apex AD1200: Yes
Apex AD703: Yes
Pioneer DV333: No
Panasonic RV32: No
All players can access the movies with the remote.
Apex AD1200: Goto, navigate title, title #
Apex AD703: Time Search, navigate title, title #
Pioneer DV333: Search Mode, title #
Panasonic RV32: Display, navigate title, title #
You'll have to experiment with your player remote.

Is there a way that we can make the movie start playing the second title automatically after the first one is finished for all PLAYERS?
Any one?

To have the second movie play after the first for all players, using the method I previously posted, do this.
1. Open VTS_01_0.IFODouble click VTS_PGCITI -> VTS_PGC_1 and scroll down to 'There is no PGC Comand Table' then right click and choose Add Postcommand.
2. Right click on '1.Post Command', choose Add PostCommand.
3. Left click '1.Post Command' and enter [71 00 00 00 00 01 00 00]
4. Left click '2.Post Command' and enter [30 08 00 00 01 00 00 00]
Your post commands should look like this:
1.Post Command Set GPreg<0> mov (set-val)<1>
2.Post Command (CallSS FP) Call First-Play domain PGC[ResumeCell:1]
5. Save file
6. Open VIDEO_TS.IFO, VMGM_Mat-> First Play PGC-> 1.Pre Command
7. Right click, Insert PreCommand then right click (same line), Add PreCommand
8. Left click '1.Pre Command' and enter [00 a1 00 00 00 01 00 03]
9. Left click '2.Pre Command' and enter [30 02 00 00 00 02 00 00}
Refresh page and your Pre commands should like this:
1.Pre Command If GPreg<0> == (cmp-val)<1><' then Goto line# 3
2.Pre Command (JumpTT) Jump to Title: 1
3.Pre Command (JumpTT) Jump to Title: 2
10. Save file

You have four TitleSets with
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_02_1.VOB, VTS_02_0.IFO, VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_03_1.VOB, VTS_03_0.IFO, VTS_03_0.BUP
VTS_04_1.VOB, VTS_04_0.IFO, VTS_04_0.BUP
Delete the existing VIDEO_TS.IFO // VIDEO_TS.BUP
Run DVDToolBox.
Quell = Path to the TitleSet folder.
Click Create Video Manager ( VIDEO_TS.IFO ).
Close DVDToolBox.
Run IfoEdit0.95
Open VTS_01_0.IFO > VTS_PGCITI > VTS_PGC_1 and scroll down to There is no PGC Comand Table
Right click and choose Add Postcommand.
Right click on 1.Post Command > Edit Command
Command: (CallSS_VMGM) Call VideoManager PGC
PGC Nr: 2 (go VTS_02_1.VOB)
Resume Cell: 1
Save VTS_01_0.IFO
Open VTS_02_0.IFO > VTS_PGCITI > VTS_PGC_1 and scroll down to There is no PGC Comand Table

thank guys,
will try both tonight.

katjarella, your guide works great. Btw, if I have a VOB that has 2 VOB ID, how to make it only 1 VOB ID.
For instance, I took VTS_0x_0y.VOB from Gladiator, which is the 37 seconds DTS trailer. It has VOB ID=1 for 7 seconds and VOB=3 for 30 seconds. What is a good/fast way to change all to VOB ID=1 ? The reason I want to make it one VOB ID because my player will playback VOB ID=1 twice.
Thanks.

I am trying to use VobEdit to effectively renumber VobIDs of the second disk of Pearl Harbor using the Join Clips of VobEdit so that I can tag it onto the end of disk one, but I find that VobEdit added two additional cells as well as added additional VobIDs. The original disk two VobIDs and Cells were:
Vob Id Cells
1 1-19
2 1
4 1 (Angle 1)
6 1
After using VobEdit to Join Clips I ended up with:
Vob Id Cells
2 1-9
3 9-18
4 18-19
5 1
6 1
7 1
2/9 has added 1:31.12 and 3/18 has added 28.17 to the movie. Almost 2 minutes exactly. At least that is what IfoEdit v0.95 shows after I made new IFOs. All other cells seem to be fine. The size of the .VOB files are identical before the join and after the join, so I find it hard to believe that and realy time has been added.
Anyone know if this can be fixed (e.g., can I remove the references to these "bad" cells from the IFO)?
Anyone know if one can simply change the VOB ID or Cell ID in a navigation pack to achieve what join clips is doing or is there more to changing VOB Ids or Cell Ids?

Did you try dvdshrink? It can compile 2 DVDs to 1.
