View Full Version : Another Issue with IC?

I don't know if it is just me or wot, but I think there is another little problem with IC that I haven't seen mentioned anywehere else.

If you watch an IC encoded movie, it looks fine, but occasionally it appears to "Wobble" slightly. Also, when you have a screenshot where the camera is slowly panning across a scene, the picture appears to do it in stages or jumps.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so has anyone found a solution?

All the DVD's I have done are Region 2 and I'm using a Pioneer 525 DVD for playback.

Any Ideas?

ain't really an issue as most progs will does this

pulsing and jumping are all part n parcel of reducing a movie

another unamed program in it's early days was really bad for this

the more you reduce the more noticable these side effects are

Do you have a 100Hz TV and even more, a Sony? (though the brand is not so important) If yes, that's the answer. Set it to 50HZ and no more problems in panning.

good point

yet I don't seem to notice it that much on my Sony KV36FS76 cos the pic is stunning with 100hz DRC enabled

but how can I notice something I haven't compared so I'll check next time I notice jumping how much of a difference it is with 50Hz cos I ain't really compared cos it's constantly on 100Hz DRC

cheers Arianos

I know what you mean :) . My Sony KV-32FQ75D has 100HZ DRC on all the time too. A relative of mine has your model (or a 36"WS Sony anyway) and drew my attention to the problem, which, frankly, doesn't bother me a bit.
I'm not going back to 50HZ, jumbs or not :)
I'm way too spoiled now....
