any help would be appreciated, or thoughts as to what i may have done wrong!
thanks,

In the readme it is clearly stated that you must use EclCCE.exe to get 2.66 or newer to work. It is also mentioned in the news page on Doom9.

my appologies.
i believed eclcce to be a plugin needed to further tweak settings in dvd2svcd, which i am in no position to even think about doing -- obviously!
thanks, and please save me some misery by deleting this post...if that power is yours!

That's ok Lane, you'll probably not be the last to make the same mistake.

I am using eclcce and have dvd2svcd pointed to that program. CCE starts as it would normally but then a window pops up saying 'cant save ecl file' - i think thats what it said. It then gave me the option of naming and saving the ecl file which I tired to do and it gave another box saying it couldnt save the .ecl file. So I clicked ok and then as the main CCE window was still there I clicked on Encode and away it went making the *.mpv file.
Is it supposed to do that? Previous versions went ahead without any intervention from at all. It was always a very much 'click and go' program.
What am I doing wrong? I'm using cce 2.66 dvd2vcd1.1.3 and latest eclcce

You must be pointing to the wrong file or you have put eclcce in the wrong place.
@ghobbit
On the Encoder tab, you must set the CCE path to point at EclCCE.exe, not ccspt.exe. And EclCCE should have ran at least once to pick up the CCE executable.
@dvd2svcd:
Maybe we can work something out so that you include EclCCE in your distribution and when people point at a CCE which is 2.66 or higher, you automatically run it through EclCCE (just put the path to CCE in the EclCCE.ini file).

I don't think that's a good idea. Think about those who buys CCE instead of using the demoversion. I know EclCCE will probably work with the bought versions, but nonetheless, they shouldn't be forced to use it.
OK, also true. I'll post a small guide on how to use EclCCE with DVD2SVCD and the new CCE template options.

I would like to add something about this to the Q+A, but I just want to be sure on a couple of things first.
What version of 2.66 do you need or higher? I think it's 2.66.01.07 or higher, but I want to be sure. I am almost certain that the beta's will not work.
Do you need to run EclCCE.exe manually first or can you run it through DVD2SVCD first?
Once I have these things clear I will add it to the Q+A.
Thanks,
Mark

I'm not sure about your first question, I think RB can answer that. But the second is, yes you have to run EclCCE once prior to using it. Because you need to have the ini file created that EclCCE is using.
@markrb:
I'm writing a small guide on how to use CCE 2.66+/EclCCE with the latest DVD2SVCD. Should be finished in about an hour. Where do you want me to post it?
markrb

Put it in advanced for now. I will add a little something to the Q+A and then link it.
It's just getting too crowded in the basics forum right now with stickies.
Actually for a little while I will create a sticky in the basics forum linking the one you create in advanced. This way both forums are covered at the most confusing time.

OK, done, just posted it here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50287).

I tested v1.1.3 build 1 with CCE 2.5, CCE 2.66.01.07 and CCE 2.67 (eclcce). They worked fine. but not the CCE 2.66.01.01 version.

I have no idea why you should feel insulted by my former reply. I can only say ligthen up, get your facts straight or don't come back! (For your information cce 2.5 is what is used most!)

If you take the time to read the pdf file in the EclCCE.exe package it states:
This 1.3a version of EclCCE will work with the following CCE SP 2.66+ trial
versions:
- 2.67.00.09
- 2.67.00.08
- 2.66.01.07
This is a limitation of either EclCCE or CCE itself. I have a strong feeling that it's an issue with CCE since I doubt RB would not include these other versions if he could.
Be happy that 2.66 support was added at all.
I don't understand why people always seem to feel cheated by a free program written in spare time.
All I can say is NO 2.66.01.01(buggy beta version BTW) support? Get over it.

I said I tested v1.1.3 build 1 & 2 with CCE 2.5 , CCE 2.66.01.07(eclcce) and CCE 2.67.(trial version). Only 2.66.01.01 are not working. why I said this is the most being used,it's edited by someone.whatever ........
Finally,I figured it out ! V1.1.3 build 2 with CCE 2.66.01.07 CCF are working perfect !:D

And don't ever tell me to take it easy. I will not permit anybody to say something which is clearly wrong and not only that, you gave me a mad face! A word of advice, we are very anal here, we uphold the rules strict, and if users (new or not) don't know how to act here from day one, they will be warned. Now you're warned.
And now you try to lie your way out. This is no way to act here. One more time and I will give you strike 1. As you know (because you have read the rules and the mail you got when signing up) 3 strikes and your off the forum in 30 days.
On the positive side I'm glad you share your findings with us. Thanks.

Well, the problem is that EclCCE depends on the layout of the CCE GUI, so I need to carefully test with every version I want to support. At the time I started coding EclCCE 2.66.01.07 was the latest so I decided that this is the minimum version. If anybody wants to use an earlier version, one can use a resource editing utility such as ResourceHacker (http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/) to patch the version number of cctspt.exe to one of the abovementioned, but that is at your own risk and there is absolutely no support for this from my side and no guarantee that it will work.

I apologise for the wrong stuffs that I said.
And I appreciate whoever made DVD2SVCD.
In conversion Tab,how can I choose Aspect Ratio (16 x 9 Without borders Added ) ?
Thanks !

Apology accepted. Go to the Misc Tab and set the dvd2svcd level to advanced. After that you can select 16x9 without borders (anamorphic) in the conversion tab.

Hi
I'm still having a few probelms. I've got the latest DVD2SVCD, the latest eclcce and cce 2.66.01.07 and winxp. I have followed RB's instructions in 'How to use CCE 2.66+ trial with DVD2SVCD'.
Ive installed cce and then installed eclcce into same directory. I then ran eclcce so as to create the .ini file.
I installed DVD2SVCD and Avisynth 2.08 and set the encoder tab to eclcce.exe and not the cce.exe.
When DVD2SVCD gets to the encoder part it brings up several windows from cce which on most I can only cancel becasue the ok is greyed out.
Eventually I get back to the main window and press encode and away it goes. I know it was running as it had got to at least 2 of 3 paases. I left this running overnight. When I checked in the morning the was a window saying it couldnt find the *.mpv file.
So I clicked ok DVD2SVCD log then said 'Finished. SVCD created'
I looked in the default folder and there was the audio file but no movie file.
I've not had this problem before - but then usually I use TMPGenc.
I've used CCE 2.66 before but not in combination with eclcce/dvd2svcd.
Its a bit frustrating in that others who are running the same thing are stating that theirs is working fine. Any ideas?

Well, my guess is that your problem is you interfering with the execution of CCE. Why do you close the open file windows of cce? You have to have some patience when CCE is started because it takes a little while to load all the files and configure it, before it starts encoding. Thumb rule no. one, don't touch your computer when cce is starting, wait until the encoding starts.

Just wanted to add that last version also works nicely with
CCE 2.64.01.10 (the one with avs and ecl write support).
Don't need EclCCE for this.

@moderators.
By the way, I have made a great new tool (D2Sroba.exe)
which seamlessly integrates the RoBa methods into DVD2SVCD.
(I think dvd2svcd is working on this, but I use the 1% algoritm).
Should I put it in that old sticky RoBa thread, or where?
- Also made a tool that replaces vStrip with DVDDecrypter (faster).

Hi DVD2SVCD
Thanks for your reply and input.
The reason I close the windows is because the computer just sits there waiting for input from me and will just sit there waiting for input from me no matter how long I leave it. I'm not toally brain dead:-) well not yet anyway.
When the encoder starts it has the avisynth script this in the window but it brings up a window asking me about settings in which the ok is greyed out and doesnt become active unless I click on some setting. Thoe only other option is to click on cancel. This then opens another window which I think was asking about matrix settings but again I have little option but to click on cancel in order to close the window otherwise cce just sits with this window open. If I recall correctly the last window is the cce window that has the video/quality and output settings on it which I've checked and they seem ok.
Once I've closed all the windows only then does cce start the encoding business.
Since I wrote the last message I have been playing with it and I think that the message I found this morning about not being able to find the .mpv file was actually from bbmpeg and not cce itself.
I have looked at some of the logs and settings files and have found that bbmpeg is looking for a file drive:\dvd2svcd\encoded_video_cce_pal.mpv whereas the file that is created by cce is drive:\dvd2svcd\avisynth_script_file.mpv
It also creates drive:\dvd2svcd\avisynth_script_file.vaf
I have changed the output file to drive:\dvd2svcd\encoded_video_cce_pal.mpv and am rerunning cce to see what happens. Yes it did bring up all those windows again and once I had closed them and changed the output settings I got asked if I wanted to save the change to the ecl file which I said yes and then away it went encoding which its doing as I write this.
Yes I probably should have checked the output settings in the first place but in my defence I've never had to do that before. DVD2SVCD always took care of the naming of the output settings etc for encoding so I wasnt expecting this to be any different.
Anyway I'll see how it goes and @I'll try cce 2.64 and see how that is.
thanks for your help
steve

It looks like something managed to put EclCCE into debug mode (CCE will act like this in this case). What OS are you using? Is there a
Debug=1
line in your EclCCE.ini file? If so, remove it. What happens when you run EclCCE directly? Can you successfully open/save ECLs manually?
ghobbit
6th April 2003, 19:50
Hi RB
Yes you're right there is a debug in the .ini
I tried that following a suggestion to someone else. This was because although cce started ok it hung at about 81%.
However I'll remove it and try again and let you know how it goes.
Yes I can open/save ecl files manually.
thanks for your help
steve
That definitely is it then. The Debug option in the INI has absolutely nothing to do with CCE hanging up. Read the EcLCCE thread in the CCE forum, it's only for helping me debugging EclCCE (there currently is no bug that I'm aware of) and should never be set in the INI file.
ghobbit
7th April 2003, 10:35
removed the debug line and reran the dvd2svcd from scratch.
Back to square one with it freezing at 81%.
back to square one. Never mind I'll go back to tmpgenc. Latest version I find just as good for me.
thanks
