Hi
I don't know if any of you are familar with an older movie by the title of "Crossroads" from 1986 it is a excellent movie if you are a guitar player but it is now out of print,it was only released on VHS with no plans of release to DVD due to the fact that Steve Vai, one of the guitar players in the movie purchased the music rights.I got lucky enough to find a hardly used vhs copy of the movie from a local video store and do a capture with my ATI AIW card but as luck would have it the store closed and when I did the capture I used one of the ATI default profiles for DVD authoring problem is that the resoultion for this profile was 640x480....I know I should have checked the site as the res was wrong, I have tried DVD patcher, tmpeg and the preparing guide for CCE 2.50 but all to no avail it becomes a third generation copy and I lose so much quality considering it is based on a VHS copy that it is almost unwatchable. I have tried both "MYDVD" and "DVDIT PE" from Sonic as they are easy to work with and of course MYDVD will do the file convertion but no way to insert chapters and there is a big quality loss,I perfer DVDIT PE but it won't accept the res plus the quality would most likley take a big hit as it would need to convert as well even if it did accept it..I did try Scenarist 2 but it is way beyond my expertise...so I have decided to forgo the chapters and I would like to use DVD2SVCD as I shouldn't lose any quality of what I already have. But here is the problem...no IFO file. I have 4 seperate mpeg2 files all around a gig and a half that make up the movie and I could rename them to vobs but it seems like IFO edit is based on real vobs..naturally, so my question is there a way to create a dummy IFO file to trick DVD2SVCD into working with these 4 mpeg2 files as I have had great sucess with this program in the past and you just can't beat the automation of the program ? Sorry for the long winded question if anyone could offer any assistance or point me to the right guide it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
