Hey guys,

Is there any tool that can detect interlaced frames and tell me when I have to IVTC instead of Force FILM. I am having trouble lately with some movies where there are a few "bad spots" in the middle of the movie. Only do I find this out after I burn the movie and watch it on my stand alone. I don't plan to watch the whole movie on my PC before I burn it nor do I have the time. I know DoCCE4U does something to this effect, but I prefer to do each step on my own.

Forgive me for I am not as advanced as some people in this area.

By the way is it better to use Decomb with

Telecide(Post=false)
Decimate(Cycle=5)

or use FieldDeinterlace() ?

Some movies that I am re-doing I use the first option and I get a slow down in video in some spots.

Sorry to tell you but thats one lame ass reply you have there...

Anyway... there are NO TOOLS to let you know when to ivtc... not that i know of anyway...

But here's a few tips on how to know... even though you should know this lareayd if you actually read the guides doom9 so kindly made for everyone.

Use something like either tmpgenc and in the ivtc option see all the fields... just by looking at the fields you'll know if that needs ivtc or its just a case of deinterlacing.
You can also separatefields in avisynth and then take a look in virtualdub or something like that to see the frames individually...

One last thing... ivtc is usually only done to NTSC material, since most PAL are not telecined... though you can find some, and its a lot harder to tell if tehy're telecined than in NTSC.

Now go out and read the guides and read a few more threads here and you'll be an expert in no time... don't just expect people to do all the work for you.

Take care.
