I've seen the review of it on Fresh Gear(TechTV (http://www.techtv.com/freshgear/products/story/0,23008,3387585,00.html)), they claim that with the $149 (now $99 (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/71701/wo/GK6AsIgsIHKZ3Bqa9DpjszLGrTK/1.5.0.3.27.12.0.5.2.1?52,29)) DVI to ADC adapter, it can be used with a DVI capable windows/PC system, but without supporting their software screen controls (meaning you can't adjust the brightness/contrast/etc.). Obviously apple doesn't support windows/PC use itself, so does anyone know if there are non-apple made drivers or software for this?

Well, I'm just pulling this out of my ass...
But, if you use an Nvidia video card you should (keyword) be able to play with the "brightness/contrast/etc" on the driver end, before the signal gets encoded and send out to the DVI port.
ATI drivers should (keyword, again) be able to do the same thing, but I don't own one so I have no idea.
Don't take my word for it, just an idea. :)

I hadn't actually thought of that, thanks. the only thing is I'd like to be able to control it with the buttons on the monitor itself
