Do B-frames lead to freezing? I experience that when using Gordian Knot with B-frames on the video freezes more often. (I get freezes in about 25 % of all films) Especially in scenes where frames change rapidly between light and dark. Eg. lightning, splashing water og explosions. When I do a re-encode with B-frames turned off the video usually is fine. Do you have similar experience? I only do PAL videos, if that has anything to do with it. What do you do about it. I tried AVI defreezer but found it of little use.

"Freezing" on playback may be caused by post-processing features. There are two ways to circumvent it: Turn off all post-processing in the DivX 5.02 codec (Start...Programs...DivX (Pro) Codec...Codec Configuration).

Use ffdshow (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ffdshow-20021213.exe) for playback.
