Hi.
Very much need help. Am used to doing DVD to DVDR but dont know how to do TV DVDs such as Dark Angel etc when all eps and extras inc stills are all in one set of vobs with one IFO file??? If it was one ep per IFO it would be easy.
I mainly use CCE and Maestro and hoping I can still as this gives me the best quality. I know I cant just process the whole set of vobs as they contain all different things, diff audio tracks, still etc etc.
4 eps per disc and disc has commentary, pics and previews.
Any help very much apreciated.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I searched and found nothing except to try IC7. Like I said I would much rather use CCE for the quality but I am at a loss as to how to do a set of vobs in sequence that contain everything.
Is there any way to do this, getting a full backup, there must be. I am just hoping I don't have to resort to DVD2ONE or DVD95COPY or whatever.
Is there no way to demux the video, reencode it and then re intergrate it into the vobs? Or am I reaching now?

if its multipgc, you should be able to extract each PGC and reencode, otherwise just extract the whole pgc and reencode it as if it was one large movie with not many chapter points.

beware of the stills that r in the middle of the stream. They might give u unsync audio.

Have you tried to demux title set using VobEdit to get one vobfile (or one set of audio and video streams) for each vob-id?

Not to be a self-promoter or anything, but it sounds like my app could be the missing program you've been looking for, since you already know demuxing basics and reauthoring basics. :D
btw: are you sure those stills are in the regular vobs? Most of the time I see that stuff included in the menu vob (*_0.vob).

Thanks again guys, firstly mighty_mike_ki, that is a bit beyond my experience so no I haven't tried that and don't know why or how I would?? :o What would that do?
Eyes`Only, yes the still were in the menu vob, my bad. I am grabbing your prog now and will get experimenting, but I demuxxed the whole set just to see and ended up with an M2V and 2 x AC3. One AC3 is the audio to the 4 eps and the other is Director's comments and audio for extras. Do you think I would just be able to mux them all back in Maestro for example and that would be that??
I ask as I imported the M2V into Maestro and the length was messed up so I need to sort that out so I can import the chapters etc first. The ep audio is about 11-12 secs shorter than the M2V though, tempted to simply DVD95COPY the whole disc, getting a bit confusing...
Appreciated.:D

Hi MaX_NormaL, I'm sorry that I cannot give more detailed information, but I've no experience with CCE an Maestro.
For some information how to demux and remux titlesets with VobEdit the following link maybe helpfull:

I would suggest you use IFOEDIT to separate the episodes. Run IFOEDIT and open IFO of the VTS where the episodes are in. For each episode, figure out which VobID it is and then use the Strip VobID's feature in VOB Extras to strip only that VobID. Do that for each episode and you got them all separated.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you're gonna get a good audio/video sync if you try to use just one ac3 of the whole vts set. If you used my program, you should have demuxed it into 4 ac3s, 4 m2vs. These can easily be transcoded and reauthored, giving you a complete dvdr, with extras, subs, and everything (the only real way to do dvdr, IMO!)

Hi
I actually tried it the one big ac3 way and you were right Eyes Only bad synch all the way through.
Used your prog and have all the relevant files. I just a bit stumped on getting them back into a single set and getting that back into original structure should be no prob.
Don't know how to do this with Maestro (Playlists,Huh?), would Scenarist be worth a try, never used it and is meant to be difficult but anything to get these particular DVDs over and done with.
Thanks again.

Surely. Check out Doom9's DoItFast guide located in his Guides section, it should have what you need to take all the relevant parts and reauthor them in Scenarist.
