basic authoring question...

I'm trying to size down Training Day (7.54GB) to fit it on a 4.3GB disc. Now, my question is if it's possible to take each set of vob files and re-encode them to a new size with CCE SP and then somehow use those files on my new DVD. the problem is i'm not sure which program to use when i've made those new vob files and how to make them work like the old ones did (with menu's etc.)

didn`t you take a look at the guides-secion here on doom9? Well, I think you should do so now. The full-backup-guide even explains, on how to re-auhor Training Day..
