I want to join some SVCDs to one DVDR, but PowerDVD doesn't play the resulting DVD correct. For the first part (SVCD1) everthing works fine, but for the following parts the fast foreward/backward function causes problems (break playback and jump to the beginning)

Here is what I did:
- re-encode Videos with TMPGEnc to get DVD-Format
- encode Audio to AC3 using BeSweet
- Author the different parts using IfoEdit95
- Joining Parts using VobEdit (Join Clips Function)
- Creating new Ifos using IfoEdit

I tried this for different SVCDs but always got the same problems.
Did anybody know this problem and can help??

Thanx Mike

Your steps seem to be ok. Maybe PowerDVD is to blame. Have you tried WinDVD or other? Maybe burn to +-RW & test on standalone....

What about using a different authoring program. IfoEdit is quite indifferent to mpeg compliance. Maybe another program would detail issues with the mpegs....

If have tested it with WinDVD and on my standalone Player too, but with the same problems!

I use IfoEdit, because its the only free software for this problem I know and I don't want to work with illegal software or spend a lot of money for such software. I have used IfoEdit and VobEdit for many DVDs and it always produces fine results (thanxs to Derrow for this fine programs!!)

Thanx for your reply!!

:) OK, I fixed the problem! I still dont know what exactly happens, but there is a simple work around:

- start IfoEdit once more and load the VTS_01_0.IFO
- select VOB extras and check strip streams
- check all stream and start

... the resulting files run without problems on PowerDVD and stand alone players.

If anybody knows a better way please let me know.
