Ok, here's my situation.
1 movie, 2 vcds, therefore 2 mpegs.
Each VCD has a little company intro though, which I want to crop out (so the final file is just the movie, uninterrupted).
Now, what I'm asking for is - what would be the most time efficient way to do this?
The end result is obviously a divx version of the movie (using nandub).
What I use to do is load up TMPGEnc, set the source range (so it's just the movie), and let it run. Repeat for 2nd cd. Then use the MPEG Tools and merge the two files together. Then load up Nandub, load the merged mpeg, set resolution, crop, etc.. and let it run.
The other day I tried something different. In the same step that I set the source range, I also used TMPGEnc and cropped it. Then merged it, only when I put it in Nandub, I didn't crop it this time and let it use its resolution (after making sure it was a multiple of 16).
Then there's the possibility of encoding each cd seperatly and then merging it within Nandub - I just opted not to do this so I could just load the big file in Nandub and use its built in bitrate calculator.
And then I'm sure there are more possibilities on the order of things..
Any suggestions on what would return me the fastest result?

Just thought of another way. Using MPEG Tools, I would just use 'merge and cut,' and select the range within that and just merge them together. So in 1 step I get a merged file with just what I want. Then just put that through Nandub and crop it. I think this is the best. Any comments?
