I've got a movie that has special fading subtitles that show up at specific moments. The rest of the movie is standard subtitles and Vobsub handles them just fine, however it just wont show those special fading subtitles, is there a way I can get them to work?

what did you load your movie subs with? vobsub? textsub? If textsub, what version of the filter did you load? What was your fade command settings?

I loaded the moviesubs using Vobsub, i left it at default settings, but I didn't burn in the subtitles into the movie, I left them external for DVobsub to show them. When I mean "fading subtitles" im not talking about the option in Vobsub, i mean the movie originally has fading subtitles, they wont show using DVobsub, the regular subtitles in the movie do show however.

so you've ripped all the subs with vobsub and you want some of them to fade and some not to fade?
or you have subtitles for the movie, then the movie has subtitles which display durring playback (of the dvd) even if subtitle options are off (like foreign language subs in an english movie, elvish subs in LotR for example) and those don't display/display with fade with vobsub?
If it's the first, DVobSub can't load 2 subtitle streams at once, and vobsub uses all or nothing fades with subs. If it's the second one, you may need to set them as forced subtitles in subresync or the idx file, but I don't know if that will cause vobsub to treat them the same was as other subs, thus making them non-fade or all-fade, if that can even be made to be in the same language stream of a .sub file
