I'm trying to convert an existing set of AVI's on my computer to a playable DVD on my standalone.
These are the procedures I'm following:
Combine the AVI's with VirtualDub into one long AVI.
Extract the sound to a WAV file using VirtulDub.
Convert the sound to an AC3 file using AC3Machine and Besweet.
Convert the joined AVI to a M2V with TMPGEnc using the following parameters....
ES(video only)
Stream type MPEG-2
Size 720 x 480
Aspect Ratio 16 x 9
Bitrate 1500(have also tried 1150,1800,and 2000)
Framerate 23.796
Video format NTSC
Source aspect ratio 16 x 9 525 line(NTSC)
all others remained at default
Author the DVD using IfoEdit's authoring function using the created M2V and AC3 files.
This process worked 2 times previously resulting in working DVD's but I decided to redo the DVD with chapters and a higher bitrate to increase used space on the disk. I have basically been trying to do one change at a time to see how the outcome is. The problem is, now whenever I get to the point of using IfoEdit to author the disk, I get a "Cannot open for writing" error and the program shuts down.
What I'm asking is do I have any other FREE options to author the DVD using an M2V/AC3 files besides IfoEdit?
Alternatively does anyone know WHY IfoEdit has decided to stop working completely?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
