Hey,

I'm not sure this is the right place to post my question but I'll give it a try! :)

I have a sony camera, with the little minidv cassetes,
I wanted to know if there's any option to transfer the recorded video to a data stream and watch it on my computer, maybe even encode it with DIVX format or something,

Are there any guides about this issue? which applications to use? maybe I need some extra hardware to connect my video camera to the computer? what about quality of sound/video? is the quality good?

I'll appriciate any help about this,
And sorry for I did a mistake and posted my questions in the wrong forum.

Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the DV forum, trouby.

Yes, you can transfer your video to a type-1 or type-2 DV AVI file which you can play back on your computer or transcode to another format like DivX with excellent video and audio quality (if you do it right). That's what this whole forum is about.

You may want to start with the guide from the sticky threads:

Please take the time to read up some threads here; you'll find tons of interesting information. The forum rules are a must, too, and you may find the F.A.Q. useful.
