VOB missing

I have run in following problem yesterday.
Ripped a DVD to harddisk with smartripper, file mode,all files
Then I loaded it in IC7 with method as described in mrbrass guide
I unchecked also title 1, 3,4,5 and removed some audio tracks and let IC7 produce it pdi files. Then extrated the ifo's and vob's from the PDI files to a new video_ts dir. So far so good, but what appears now that there is a vts_01_0.ifo (and bup) file but no vts_01_0.vob file. Looking in the ifo file it says there is one program chain but with length O (time) and there is no cell playback information (not needed if playback time is , seems logical.
Now the problem when trying to burn the files with Nero to a DVD, Nero comes with the message that vts_01_0.vob is missing and that DVD may not play properly in standalone player.
When you burn the disk and play it on PC its fine but when you put it in a standalone DVD player it will hang on title 1 chapter 1 and will not proceed to main menu
Anybody also have encountered this and found an easy way to solve it ?

its the old 'using IC to remove Titles again' bug

it's looking for a VOB ID that you have deleted by removing a Title

these are sometimes the logos/warnings but sometimes they are just blank screens that change the aspect ratio so if this is missing it freezes your player whereas your PC just carries on regardless on most occasions

use Ifoedit before or after to remove unwanted stuff for 100% working results

p.s. I dont know if you may not have extracted all the VOB files properly as I'm sure I've seen a post about this but can't remember what method it was

Hi misterX thx for explaining.
I extrated the pdi's with pdixtraxt tool.I checked content of the pdi files and the missing vob is relly not there.
In meantime I made another try and let title 1 in. Only removed (unchecked) title 3,4,5,6. Belongin to vob 3, Now when IC7 has produced its files there is a vts_03_0.vob but now nero complains there is no vts_03_01.vob
Seems that unchecking titles is a not preferred option unless you are very familiar with ifo files content to fiddle around later to make it work. maybe that why pinnacle IC7 has deselecting titles disabled in the standard registry settings, as their software is apparently not capable to make proper ifo files in case titles are unchecked. Some will work some not.

LOL :D, I've been saying that for ages now, but glad to see you understand also now

just use Ifoedit to strip it 1st as it's simple to use once you do it a few times

yeah I know, only one problem menu extras of ifoedit does work (crash) if no vob is present. You need to do the stripping before feeding it to IC7, damned have to start all over again.:sly:
