Hi!

I have an Abit KT7 motherboard equipped in hpt370 RAID. In Windows2000 I don't experience any problems with capturing video, while under XP I'm having ocasionally dropped frames. I discovered, that the only solution is to install drivers for RAID controller from win2000, but I don't know if it's save. Is there any other solution to such issue?

hi,
can it be that you forgot to 'lock videostream to audio' while capturing in w2k? I have never captured w/o dropping frames at least 1 per 2 minutes. I capture a lot (done over 300) of 6 min avis and they have 3 or 4 dropped frames ALWAYS. I guess it has to be that way for it to stay synched?

Hi!

The thing is that I use Pinnacle DC10, and for some reasons it doesn't mark dropped frames, so when they occur I got desynchronization. Even if i set interleaving it desn't change a thing. Maybe the Pinnacle drivers I have are bad, but I tried a number of them and every time I was getting the same results.
I even made a DShow filter, which inserts dropped frame, preventing from desynchronization, but I cant't call it robust ;). First of all it doesn't get lodaded every time, and secondly the information given by capture card about dropped frames is false. It tend's to overestimate the number of dropped frames. I had to isert frames basing on the system timer, but it's definetely not accurate.
As I said the solution is to change the RAID drivers to Windows's 2000 ones, but it seems to me a bit boorish. But recording 2h lasting film I have 0 dropped frames, and it suits me.
