View Full Version : Problems with Burning/Reading Divx3-2 CD Rips

Hi folks...it's been probably a year or so since I last posted here...and I snooped around and found some nice changes (AC3 Winamp plug-in I remember complaining about, and AVI-MUX as being better than Nandub for AC3 muxing...*crap*...).

Ah well.

Anyway, something that's been bugging me for a while is the fact that I when I want to view my rips off of CD, it always screws up around 75 to 80% through the AVI file (CD, whatever). Same goes for copying it into an image - which theoretically would bring better flow/less screw up since you're reading off an HD.

I've got an older slow-ass computer (450 mHz, 128 ATI Rage, SB Live) and typically burn divx3 Nandub encoded files with AC3 sound (usually just one track). Works fine for the most part...except when it gets to around 3/4 through. I burn it through EZCD with the 'disc-at-once' option.

Is this a disk error? A burn error? (would track burning solve this?). When I use disk capturing proggies (Winimage, CloneCD, etc), there seems to be an error reading around 3/4 as well. CloneCD I can cancel out of and the result seems to work find (not so with Winimage)..

Any suggestions? This is a major pain in the ass...

It's definetly a burning problem as opposed to a problem with the file itself. Have you tried reading the CDs with another CD drive? I've never heard of EZCD (although I'm not an expert on burning software), but the cause is likely an error in burning. Take the CDs to another PC and see if they can be read: if they can, it's your computer, if not, it's the CD itself.
