(relative) newbie question(s):

1 - Do I have to deinterlace in order for the flaXen VHS filters to work ? I cannot find any information that says as such, however I am not seeing any appreciable differences in the output (to my unexperienced eye)

2 - Do I need to deinterlace at all ? My project is capturing VHS (via huffy ot PicVideo), some NLE, and then burn to DVD. Or should I be deinterlacing for support of my progressive scan DVD player (which will be connected to a prog-scan display once I win the lottery) ?.

Thanks for any replies

Just my opinion ...

The deinterlace process (blend or interpolate) will have an impact on image quality when removing interlace artifacts for PC display. For TV, and using a field based codec like MPEG-2, I'd keep the content interlaced.
