i am a newbie tried search did not find answer. i get pixellation when irecord my movies in svc or svcd . i have tried alot of different brands of media. when i watch the file on my mointor from hd there is none only when i record to disc using cdr. i have a liteon 16x10x40 recorder.

i'm going to assume that when you convert a dvd -> svcd, you don't quite understand why the quality isn't as good as the dvd itself.

when you convert a dvd -> svcd (or anything else), you are actually lowering the quality (resoultion & bitrate) of the dvd, hense, pixellation, so it doesn't matter what type of cdr you uses; that's the price we pay for not being able to afford a dvd burner, yet.

i'm also assuming that when you said "file" you mean vobs.
