How's it goin'? I'm use to using TMPGEnc to encode DVD videos to Mpeg (vcd format). But lately I have downloaded quite a bit of divX / xVid movies of the net and want to encode them to VCD format. What program would be the best for this?

Also is there away to fix errors in xVid movies? I have one video that crashes about a quarter of the way through. I have no idea how to fix this, I have tried to find a program to cut the frames out but I was unable.

Could someone please help me out with these questions, it would be well appreciated.

Welcome to Doom9's forum! I hope you'll find it useful. You will find avi -> VCD guides for both DVD2SVCD and TMPGenc in Doom9's format conversion guides (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm) page.

Please review the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm). I know you're new, but in your very first post, you seem to have missed Rules 1, 6, and 12. For more on Rule 6, one of our most important rules, please see this sticky thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43617) from the DVD2SVCD forum.
