Gericom means nothing ... they are a distributor of loads of different, mostly Taiwan-made notebooks. Try to find out sth. about the maker of your notebook or better still about the graphics chip used.

ah well, tnx for replys, i didnt fix anything really..., i found this help file

http://users.volja.net/smoker/pub/gericom.htm

that is supposed to answer my question, but iam afraid is in german..., from what i can understand there is something to change in bios to get the overscan, in fact i cant locate any such bios settings..

OK, here is mine translation attempt of that German page :)

Download latest video drivers available at
ftp.gericom.com/notebook/webgine

Complete the following procedure when using TV-OUT under WINXP
Verify proper cable connection between your Notebook and TV

Click Start –--settings--- control panel---- display--- settings
Advanced---utility Manager---Driver Mode Settings
Click on the Driver Mode combo and set it to Mirror Mode
choose TV as your secondary display device and then click OK
At this point the picture should be showed on the ext TV set.

Secondary display type should be set to "PAL" in BIOS, under
Advanced CMOS configuration setup, and the TV Scan type
should be set to "Over Scan" also.
As for the latest drivers for your SYS-630VGA card, really no problems here,You can D/L it at Gericom's FTP server(VGA folder)the only
problematic part seem to be your mobo BIOS(or more precisely its Revision which seem to be pretty old),its looks like you need to flash it in order to be able to adjust these setting mentioned in the article, there are couple of BIOS updates available both for the motherboard Rev.05(with TV-Out) check if this is the case with your mobo.
