just wondering if anyone has experienced this (and has any solutions).
installation of logitech messenger webcam results in either bluescreen (kernel something or other, or IRQ error, or invalid writestate or trying to write to invalid RAM) or eventual loss of adsl modem, resulting in bandwidth plummeting to nil. i hadn't noticed it for about a week or so until i tried to encode something with the new XVID build (i've tried it with older stable builds and it still crashes).
both the modem and webcam are USB devices, and disabling the webcam through control panel > system > device manager doesn't help, and i don't really want to remap IRQs (there's no way to do this without a reinstall right?). i've also noticed the the logitech software installs windows media encoder 8, and am wondering if that could be a problem, i've never used any of the WM codecs so i wouldn't know. i'm running:
w2k sp2
althon 2200+
512 DDR RAM
MSI KT3 Ultra2 mobo
with all VIA 4in1 and USB drivers installed
i've just uninstalled the webcam and am running another encoding session again, to see if anything happens, but i'd really appreciate any help anyone has. thank you in advance.
