Hi!
I have my new BT8x8 card, I installed the BtWincap drivers, I installed my Creative SoundBlaster Live drivers, I installed VirtualDub and the Huffyuv codec.
So I started capturing video, but I cannot choose 48 KHz audio frequency. The highest I can choose is 44.1KHz.
Anybody can help?
Since I'd like to store my videos on DVD, if I cannot set 48KHz audio, I have to upsample the audio to 48KHz of every captured file.
Thanks for any help.
Bye,
Massi.
As far as I know BT8x8 cards don't support sampling rates higher than 44.1 kHz. At least it seems my WinTV PCI doesn't.

Don't know about BT cards, because I've never liked to use the tuner part of mine. But since the BT-card normally doesn't do anything but route the audio out to the in of the audio card, it's weird if it sets a limit on the KHz.
But if you're not already, try sampling the audio via the audio card directly (not going through the capture card), then it's up to your audio card to support 48 KHz sampling. According to Creative's web site, the Sound Blaster Live supports "Sampling Rate for Playback/Recording (Stereo): 8 KHz - 48 KHz". You can check your precise model for technical specs here:

The audio is captured via the SB Live, not the capture card. For what concerns video, I don't use the tuner, but just the Composite In.

I already capture audio via the SB, not the BT8x8 card. Before buying the SB Live, I used the motherboard built-in audio card, and I could capture audio at 48 KHz with VDub.
Now that I have the SB Live, I can't. Seems like SB drivers don't let you do that...
I'll try downloading the VERY latest drivers...

I also found I had this problem on a fresh install...also have sblive. Installing ATI MMC 7.7 fixes the problem and will give you 48000 in all apps (not just mmc).
If you don't have any ATI stuff, then it's kinda pointless, but as a last resort if you can't find any other solution, it should solve your problem.

I have a SB Live too, and I don't have problems capturing at 48Khz.
Aver TV bt8x8, SB Live, Athlon 900, Windows XP.
What is the exact error you get? or does it not let you choose 48Khz?
Can you record audio at 48 Khz with other applications?
I actually don't have the SB live drivers installed, and I have no problem. (I have the default drivers that come with XP)
Before I had the creative drivers installed, and I had no problem.
Perhaps its a problem of the exact version of the drivers you have installed.
If nothings works, try a fresh install of windows ;-)

Massi,
Are you trying to find 48khz at the menu at the lower right hand side of the VirtualDub capture window? 48khz isn't an option. To get 48khz go up to the Audio menu item and choose Compression. Under Attributes select 48khz and it'll show that at the lower right corner.
