As subject, what's digitally capturable on PC?

I'd like to capture broadcasts and archive them on DVD.

I already know DVB-C is not capturable in North America. There are no ATSC broadcasts in my area, so thats right out.

So whats possible to capture digitally on PC? Dishnetwork? Directv? Others?

Please, no junk about DVB in europe or australia or outer mongolia or whatever. Please stick to north america discussions only.

There is a hard to find Dish 5000 remodulator card that allows you to record E* to an HDPC with a regular ATSC capture card. But it may be obsoleted soon.

And a company called 169Time offers a modification to the DirectTV boxes that I think allows recording of some unencrypted channels.

But I don't know the limitations of either of these and have never used either.

You might also check www.antennaweb.org (choose an antenna) and www.titantv.com to see if there are any ATSC stations in your area you might be able to get.
