View Full Version : Problem with showing forced flags in VobSub

When I view a created subtitle set (at least two in the .sub) of Vobsub in Subresync, and I see some forced flags in the first subtitle, switch to the second (or higher), and return to the first, the forced flags aren't displayed there anymore. I have to quit subresync and reopen it (and reload the subtitle set) to see the force flags again.
Also some force flags in a second or higher subtitle aren't displayed, only in the subtitle which is automatically displayed when opening the subtitle set shows me force flags, but only as long as I don't switch to another and return to it...
A bug? Am I doing something wrong?

No responses? Am I the only one with this problem?
Please try whether forced flags are also displayed (when existing) in 'slot' 01, 02,... or only in slot 00 (0x20) when loading into SubResync.
At the moment I have to rip each single subtitle stream and have to map it to 0x20 and check whether he has forced flags. Very annoying.

Same problem for me! It's exactly how you described it, the forced flags are only displayed for the first subtitle stream, not for the following streams. Then, if you go to another stream and go back to the first stream, the flags are gone as well.
I didn't know how to get the flags for stream 04 until I read your post and realized I can remap the subs I want to the first stream. Gotta try that (but you're right, it's pretty annoying!)
btw. in Doom9's guide it says you could just take the whole subtitle stream and activate "Forced = ON" in the idx file. I tried this, but it still showed all subs, not only the forced ones. Seems like VobSub 2.23 has problems with recognizing the forced flags or something?

Hi,
I tryed to select only the forced (r. mouse button) and saved them to new file, but in the new file I found all the subs again ???
How about an older version of vobsub?

I tryed to select only the forced and saved them to new file, but in the new file I found all the subs again ??? Hmmm, that worked for me so far (but only with the subtitles mapped to 0x20, the first subtitle track). I think I selected the forced subs with left mouse button plus ctrl, not using the right mouse button at all.
@Alphaloop, how do you remap the other subtitles to track 0x20? I tried with DVD Decrypter ("Stream Processing --> Enable Stream Processing --> Direct Stream Copy --> Map to 0x20") but no matter if I copied only the subtitles or the whole video and audio with subtitles, Vobsub would just close itself on trying to demux a subtitle stream. No error message, nothing, it just closed itself.

I always remap only one stream to 0x20 while ripping with DVDDecrypter. So I want to check 4 subtitles for its forced flags, I have to make this game 4 times. :-/
No problem here so far....
You can't remap 2 or more subtitles to 0x20 at the same time.
ps: what are the symbols for? (green circle, the two red triangles)
