When I try to play a certain DivX video that i downloaded, it just stays at the first frame and the sound runs on fine. This is not a frozen frame, because if i open the file in VirtualDubMod it acts like that also. VDub shows only the first frame that is passed to the decoder (not neccesserely the first frame in the video) and then it just stays like that, no matter where i click on the slider.
I tried scanning the video for errors, opening it in AVIFile compatibility mode and re-deriving the keyframes but nothing helps.
:(
This video was encoded with DivX5 (fourCC=DX50) and has MP3 sound. Other videos (DivX5 and others) on my computer work fine.
Does anyone recognise this problem/bug? Has anyone got a solution?

thnx.

You know, it's possible to download a video from the internet that is not a movie or some other illegally distributed video.
I never said that this was a moviezzzzzzzzzzzz or filezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz or warezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This is a problem that has and still does affect the video compression scene, so it has to be fixed. It doesn't matter what the video contains. Now stop calling me a thief and stop wasting time on replies like that.

I don't know what your current setup is, but I have read that you can't play Divx 5.03 files with any previous Divx version decoder. Have you tried playing it with ffdshow? (I doubt this is the problem but it is worth a try)

Also you might try seperating the audio and video with graphedit, then remux them. (Also, not sure if this will work or not)

I tried removing the audio in VDub, but that didn't fix it. I haven't yet installed 5.03, i think i'll try that.

Many thanks. :)
