I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could have a solution for my freezing problems. Here is my process:

1. Rip main movie with Decrypter
2. Compress video with DVD2One (if needed)
3. Create image of VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders with ImgTools.
4. Burn with Decrypter at 1X speed

I've used RecordNowMax to burn as well but the freezing is the same. I've been using both Princo (-R) and Ritek 1X media. My burner is a Toshiba SD5002 (2X).

The movies I burn do not freeze completely, just a bit, then they keep on playing. They freeze throughout the entire movie (really annoying). I've tried them in two different DVD standalones with the same results. I have a Toshiba SD-3750 and a Broksonic DVCR810 DVD Combo standalone. The freezes don’t come at chapter changes, they are just random. Could it be my process or the media? Help would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Personnaly I do not find DVD2One quality acceptable, when you keep bonuses.
But I never see pixelisation due to bad reencoding.

Probably more a media/Burner/burning soft problem.
The easiest is to change the DVD burning tool (use Imgtool, the best I think. NB: Hey, Coujo, I feel like I am doing promotion for you every day :-) )

Then, try another media. Ritek G03 (don't know if it's the ritek you mentionned) are really good, also Bulkpaq gen4 2X burned @1X or Ritek G04 are really good.

hope this would help

I use the exact same methods you described. I have the same dvd burner as well. I had been using some fuji film 2x dvd that burnt flawless, but 3.50 a pop. Bought some princo spec. 2.0 that are 1x dvd with cases for a 1.00 ea.

I set dvd decrypter on data type Mode1/2048, Write Mode DVD, and Speed Max. dvd decrypter automatically senses the 1x and only writes at that speed. It actually writes around .9x though. It might be that if you set it to 1x that it my be burning the dvd too fast on the outer part of the disk because the angular velocity is greater there. I remember when cd burners came on the market and where becoming faster than cd-r's. I always had to set my burn speed lower than the media speed or i would get random skipping or popping on it. The same problem applies to the dvds.
I have burnt through 8 of my princo's with the same steps as you and not a single skip on any of them in my version 2 ps2(old!).http://www.oldeparsonage.com/dvd/DVDDECRYPTER2.jpg

I think this promotion is ok, isn't it? I haven't the time to promote my stuff so it's better someone else promote it :D !
