Well I have had this problem some times and do not really know what to do. At the moment I have a fully compressed WAV-file, made in VirtualDub: 192 kb 32khz. I converted it with Besweet to a 192 48khz Mp2 to make it fit SpruceUp. But SpruceUp complains "Invalid sample rate...." Is there a way to completely convert a WAV so that any remaining figures from the original get washed out? I have tried Headac3he and AVI2wave also, but the problem still remains. There is no problem though to load the Mpeg2 video stream. I think I read somewhere about this some time ago, but I cannot remember where. It was about an app completely washing out all remainings from the original file. Thanks for clues on this matter.

if you are making a NTSC DVD, you cant use m2a audio, and im not too sure if spruceup supports m2a audio anyway. (quick thought is to change the audio file to a m2a extension rather than mp2, mainly cause mp2 acutally means a mpeg-2 program stream).

other thing to try is convert to an ac3.

Well, I have tried different extensions with the same result. And I have done NTSC:s with mpa (mp2 - Besweet)extension without problems. And as for AC3 - that works great. I think it is a bit funny though. The file I am testing at the moment is a 32 khz 192 kb as I mentioned. It seems as the audio converting programs do not overwrite these figures in a proper way to satisfy SpruceUp. It still thinks it is a 32 khz. And this happens now and then. Off course I can use AC3 audio but it is unessecary and a waste of space. If the source is a 32 khz 192 kb compressed "wav" it will most likely not sound better as a 384 kb 48 khz AC3, just take a lot more kb:s on the DVD.

Well, I finally found out that if you rip the audio from the AVI with VirtualDub and save it as a WAV then converting to MP2/MPA with BeSweet it will work with SpruceUp. If you let VirtualDub make a fully compressed WAV (PCM) it will not. Do not ask me why. But there must be an explanation somewhere down the road.... ;-)
