View Full Version : Stream pre-selection problem - For Maestro experts

Hi.

I'm backing up a dvd concert, and i demuxed all the files in order to keep the original motion menus (most of them, not all).
Basically, i reconstructed the original menus and the original behavior of the dvd with Maestro.

It all works great:cool: except for the audio and subtitle pre-selection.

I have 7 menus:
-1 Main menu
-4 Song Selection menu
-1 Audio selection menu
-1 Subtitles selecton menu

The problem is that the audio menu is NOT linked directly to the main movie (concert). Instead, the audio menu is linked to the Main Menu, the main menu is linked to a 2 second m2v file* (like a small movie with no sound), and then to the movie.

When the movie starts, it ignores all the selections that we've made.

So the bottom question is, how can i make the streams selections to work properly ?

* this file was demuxed with VobRaptor and it's a (visual) link between the main menu and the movie, often used on most original dvd's.

Thank you a lot for your help:cool:

U may add an invisible autoexec button, in the 2secs inbetween video, that links to the main movie and select the subs and audio from there. This works if u have one subs or audio options.

If u have several to choose from u have to link the 2sec video to a command sequence and branch from there to the appropriate streas

i think what you need to do is change the link to the movie to a command sequence that sets audio stream by GPRM (which you set in the audio selection menu).

I have two audio streams and two subtitle tracks, so i guess i have to go for the comand sequence.

The only problem is that i don't have Maestro's manual and i don't know how to do it. I know how to access the comand sequences, but i don't understand it.

Can you please give me a clue about how it is done ?

the manual is included in the Maestro CD.

However u need a command sequence that sets the gprm0 to 1 or 2 for the audio selection and gprm1 to 1 or 2 for the subs and a second one that would select each stream based on the appropriate gprm.

I know its a bit confusing at first but actually it is quite straightforward once u study it a little.

there r threads that contain examples of command sequences and I even posted one MAestro project Saturday before last that used command sequences. U can study it.

I think i found a solution to my problem.

I had the m2v file (which was used as a link between the main menu and the concert) as a movie. Now i changed that file to a menu item with a timeout of 0 seconds.
Now, the pre-selections made in the menus are active on the main movie (concert in this case).
At this right moment, i'm compiling the project so i can test it in a dvd player.

Anyway, i spent the last 4 hours searching the forums and trying to understand the command sequences... with no success.
Can you please help me on the basics or on a project like the one i have ?

I know it might not be easy... ...and that's why i want to know how it's done

Thank you a lot
