Hello to all of you!

Forced by spams/infected mails/mails form lazy and unthankfull people I will delete all my mails adresses from my html pages (from videoxone to inet.hr) and make a contact form for all of these. Now, as I don't know squat about scripting languages etc. I would like to know what are the possibilities?

The major point is that is has to be free and that my e-mail adress remains hidden (for the bots and the real people), as that's the whole point. I do not mind the question from people about DVDx or video coding or anything else, but I do mind getting 6 worm/virus infected mails per day and getting crappy spam.

I do not want to use any of the other solutions (putting nospam or similar in the mail addy, using a picture for showing the e-mail adress etc.)...
A perfect form would look like this one:

http://www.dvd2one.com/mail.php

My inet.hr homepage runs on Linux, AFAIK. Videoxone, I have to ask the admin first :) . Is there a possibilty to run the contact form for free like a off site guestbook? So, I don't even have to bother about putting it on my homepages?

Thanks a bunch to your answers and time.

All the best,

Mijo.

Ask your host if they support PHP, it doesn't matter what OS or server they use. That's how dvd2one is doing their contact, the form is processed by a php script. That script is not very difficult to write, if you can't find one at phpbuilder or similar site.
If all else fails, contact me and I'll set something up for you, as my servers run php.

Edit: Whatever you do, do not use mailform.pl, your hosting provider will not like what happens. Every day I get dozens of attempts to use it to relay mail.

Thanks for your answer.

I highly doubt that Iskon (my ISP) supports PHP as I got my webspace with the dial up account. It's really the minimum they can give, IMO (100 MB bandwith, 10 MB space)... But, I've send a mail with question.

VideoXone is another thing... Must mail fISH for the answer.

Thanks a bunch for your offer, I'll take it if I'm gonna need it :) . Thanks.

Good night,

Mijo.

It seems that Lycos supports PHP, so I'll just use that site for the form if my ISP don't supports it.

Now, I'll have to find the script :) .

Well. If you don't mind Flash it should be possible to write a flash graphic that will use a post method to send email. It will not be a server side requirement. But your users will need flash. That along with protecting the flash file from import should make it pretty damned hard for anyone to get the email addy. I am tinkering around with writing one for my SMS atm.

Ookami, I made it simple with PHP on my site, from same reasons like by you.
I can send you simple script, what you can easy adapt for your needs (changing input form, address etc.)

See it at www.pootnik.com - kontakt. And send me message from there :-)

Btw. it's also simple to keep most parts of your site at current host, and put only mail kontakt scripts on lycos or whichever with php support.

Thanks for all your answers.

Mpucoder, send me an php script, but I haven't tried it, yet.

I plan to use Lycos for the contact form and leave my pages as they are. My inet.hr page doesn't support PHP (got my answer today).

@Neo Neko

Thanks for the offer, I've found something similar but I don't want another format that could get in the way of compatibility.

@ppera2

Thanks, nice :) . But, I hope that I will manage to use Mpucoders nice script, as I'm a total PHP challenged person :-D . BTW, if I knew that there exists a database with many subtitles (after the biggest one closed a few months ago), I would maybe finished my Ghost in the shell translation. Aah, good old translator times :) .

All the best to all of you,

Mijo.
