Hope someone can help me with this or point me in the right direction...i've reviewed other posts and havent seen any answers to this dilemma yet. I have a athlon xp 1700, 60 gig hard drive, 256 megs of ddr ram, and have run four stress tests for the computer and all have come back fine. I have encoded five movies before i started to run into bbmpeg freezing at a certain percentage and wont continue....have tried to change various suggested settings, restarting, starting from recover, and generally trying everything suggested in other posts. Every movie now freezes with bbmpeg and nothing has been installed or uninstalled on the computer when it did work and when it didnt. Any suggestions as to what to do would be greatly appreciated and tanx for listening to my rants. And here is the logfile.

Play the mpv and the mp2 files and make sure they have data in them.

Arathorn, I don't know if this is your problem or your system config. but I started getting this problem at different times of CCE encoding. Mine turned out to be a stick of ram going bad. The only thing that would lock things up was CCE.

Might sound silly but check you have enough space on the drive. After installing the latest version it stopped on me and I realised it was trying to write to default C drive which was almost completely full. Afer killing off some stuff and recovering it proceeded without a hitch. In fact, I finally managed to complete of backup of a multiple episode thing using the rename technique.
