G'day
Got around to doing my first ISO Burn with DVD Decrypter anyway I left the speed on MAX thinking like most programs do it will just go to the default 2.4x

Anyway as it was burning it runs between 2.5 and 2.6x
This surely cant be right
and if it is, can this be good for the burner?

Or is this jsut a simple miss calculation on the speed part of DVD Decrypter?

Thanks in advance.

I've seen this to when burning from DVDDecrypter. Even when I used to burn at 1x on Ritek's the speed would sometimes a bit more than 1x sometimes a bit less. Never seem to have caused any problems for my burner though. I think perhaps this is the speed the data is being sent to the device. The buffer itself will make sure the drive only accepts as much data as it needs. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

its all worked out on the number of bytes transferred in a 'known' period of time. due to internal buffering of the drive, and the fact that you write in chunks of 32 sectors at a time, it is quite possible that the drive may appear to be burning quicker than its supposed to.
Dont worry, no program can force a drive to write any quicker than it should do. That kind of thing is controlled by the firmware.
