Hi..

I try to encode Asterix & obelix mission cleopatre
but when i do my DVD2AVI project the statistic windows show me INTERLACED..

but when i encode my DVD2SVCD its put IVTC because dvd2svcd DETECT HYBRID MODE..

i have try many filter (TELECIDE,Tomsmocomp, etc..)
and nothing do the best job...

the dvd is not progressive because the order of the frame is not exact
sometime.. frame 1-2-3-4 (interlaced) frame 5 correct frame 6-7 (interlaced) frame 8-9-10-11-12 (interlaced)..
many interlaced... sometime correct frame..

does anybody have a suggestion ?

Have you tried shutting Forced Film off and just using SmartDeinterlace?

If i want to keep the interlaced... because i want to watch me SVCD on my TV

but in DVD2SVCD when i choose KEEP INTERLACED the ratio reset to 4/3
how to keep interlaced in 16x9 ?

when i use Deinterlace filter (smartdeinterlace, tomsmocomp etc...)
the frame order of the video is ok.. my i have BLEND frame..

You could edit the Avs file manually and change it to 16:9 if the problem is there.

If you are trying to encode as 16:9 anamorphic no borders added then you could change the encode mode in CCE once it starts. Just cancel the encode window and go into the video options and change the DAR to 16:9.
Only do this for an anamorphic SVCD that does not work on many DVD's.

thx markb
i have try anamorphic 16x9 and my the playback in my dvd is jerky

i think im goin use tomsmocomp (i have the best result with this filter) but the bottom of my scree go up,down,up,down..
probably wrong field order. ?

My video look Interlaced & progressive in the same time because when i use Deinterlace filter i have no artifact interlace
but i have duplicate frame in the next 6 frame

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9
1-2-3-4-56-6-7-8-9

thats my video the frame 5 & 6 is in the same frame and the frame 6 continue alone...

and the frame 1-2-3-4-5 are interlaced.. its very wierd

Try this.
Do a quick encode without any changes to the way you normally do it. This should create a AVS file that is 16:9 with borders etc... like normal. After CCE starts encoding cancel it. Then rename the avs file to something else so it won't get overwritten.

Then do the encode they way you think it changes it to 4:3, but make sure to have edit the avs file selected on the frameserver tab.

When it stops compare the resize method numbers and the addborder numbers with the previous encode. If these two are the same then the video is being encoded as 16:9 with borders. If they are not the same simply copy and paste those two line from the saved and renamed avs file. Hopefully this will fix it.

Before you do this post your log file from the last failed attempt that you think it is not encoding it as 16:9 with borders.

Then if my idea fails post that log file as well. At this point there really isn't anything we can do without those logs. Remember to use cut and paste and not attach.

Ok, now when I choose KEEP INTERLACED I modified the AVS before encoding (your idea work)..
now I have a 16x9 with KEEP INTERLACED but when I play in my dvd I saw interlaced frame on my TV.

with many test FieldDeinterlace() give me the best result for removing interlaced frame (I prefer Tomsmocomp but I have problem with field order)..

I think the dvd is bad quality.

I think you missed a step.
After you have that good avs file that is the right aspect ratio rename it so you can use the data.
Then start a recover and choose whatever deinterlace you like that has had the effect of switching it to 4:3.
However you are going to edit the avs file right before video encoding and replace ONLY the resize and addborders to keep it as 16:9. Don't get rid of the deinterlace stuff as you want to deinterlace it.

thx for your tips.
i try this later..

Do you already seen a DVD PROGRESSIVE (FILM) but with frame type INTERLACED.
I have one
With dvd2avi i writed FRAME TYPE INTERLACED, With bitrate Viewer frame type is interlaced
but when I open the vob direct with VirtualdubMOD or with a AVS SCRIPT
if I move frame by frame. I can view 3 correct frame 2 bad 3 correct 2 bad (3:2pulldown) if I use Telecine().Decimate(5)
all the video look great.

how do you call this frame type ?

Hi-

how do you call this frame type ?

DVD2AVI can't tell the difference between truly interlaced material (every frame interlaced), or telecined progressive film material that has been encoded as interlaced. The Preview will say that both kinds are Interlaced. So you did the smart thing and looked at the frames and saw the 3 progressive-2 interlaced frame pattern that told you it had been telecined, and could be IVTC'd. But most progressive film material shows that same 3-2 pattern. But if it has been encoded as progressive, then it can (usually) be Force Filmed in DVD2AVI. For more information, you might read This (http://www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm).

Do you already seen a DVD PROGRESSIVE (FILM) but with frame type INTERLACED.

Too many times. Probably more than half of the DVDs I see are like that.
