Recently had to do a reformat on XP pro, and now after reinstalling TMPG , I can find no way to convert a .d2v file to m2v . The drop down box shows only m1v.
Please help !!!
How did you read your d2v files before in TMPGEnc? I guess through AviSynth? In that case you have to install AviSynth as well, and open the d2v file in an AVS script via MPEG2Source.

Thanks for the reply .
I've been using the guide done by Rap @ digi forums .
Put the DVD image on to the hard drive with DVD Decryt , and ripped the audio with DVD2AVI .
Previuosly , the m2v tag in tmpg was available , but not now .
Have got the 2.5 version of TMPG , which I think supports mpeg2 , but no success.
Had also downloaded the Vfapi pugin for an earlier version I had.
As I don't know the steps you have taken (and I don't know the mentioned guide either) I'm afraid I can't help you any further. I wouldn't use VFAPI, but AviSynth instead, because it's faster. You may also want to try one of Doom9's guides ;)

sorry if I misunderstand, but I think this is another case of TMPGenc's mpeg-2 reading saga. Take a look in:

It seems that recent versions of TMPG don't read mpeg-2 files. However it works for some people even though it's not supposed to! I guess this is related to having a compliant mpeg2 decoder installed. Anyway, the m2v.vfp file seems to work for some, and the trick of loading the files into WMP first works for me!

HI,
I got the same problem,
i could not read any d2v file on my computer with TMPG
For my the problem was in the "Environmental settings", "VFAPI Plug-in" of TMPG
For the DVD2AVI file reader, the path to the vfp file was not correct
(just click on the line and wait wihtout moving, TMPG will show you the path the file).
The only way i find to correct that was by changing the value directly registry.
Once Changed it works ok :)
