View Full Version : Using animated "DefaultChangeCD" image

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere--I cannot find it if it has.

I typically use DVD2SVCD's included DefaultChangeCD.bmp/jpg as the change CD icon. However, I see where someone has made a .mpg of it, revolving the disk in the gloved palm

How do I create my SVCD in DVD2SVCD, using this .mpg as the "ChangeCD pic" under the CD Image tab of DVD2SVCD? The ChangeCD .jpg is neat, but this animated image is terrific!!

email edited as this is a forum and all responses belong here

Thx,
RR

Hello!
If you choose a *.mpg - file as title, cangecd or lastcd pic, dvd2svcd wont convert it, so simply choose it under the cd-image tab. I f itīs an valid svcd - compatible file, your player will play the motion mpeg as "change cd pic".
edit: but you have to be aware of disc sopace, since the pics donīt affect the bitrate calculation!

greets, winxi

Thanks for the response re: using .mpg vs .jpg. Sorry if this was posted to the incorrect conference.

For those interested.....
The ChangeCD.mpg is about 1.6mb. I picked it up at Doc Mercury's site (www.svcd.cc).

Good grief! What brought on THIS rant?

Methinks thou protesteth to much!

1. Of course, Doc knows about Doom. Do you think he's an idiot?
2. Who said anything about joining ANYTHING? *I'M* not a member nor did I even suggest that you join.
3. Who said anything about any $20 --or 20Ē or that matter? I merely said that I picked it up on Doc's site.

If you ever joined a S/VCD-related Usegroup, you would know that Doc regularly posts links to his website so that anyone in the world--including rookies like YOU--can d/l stuff that he has posted--FREE! This includes the .mpg file....and that's how *I* got it.

The DefaultChangeCD.mpg is IDENTICAL to the ChangeCD.bmp that is provided with every copy of DVD2SVCD, except that the CD rotates. That tells me that this was probably copied from DVD2SVCD, modified somewhat and that it is likely to be posted somewhere on Doom.

Not ranting...Joking. Notice the use of "LOL" (laugh out loud) twice in my post.

See above^^

Quote from his webpage,"Then you want this Web site and these guides. Accept no substitutes. It's a real jungle out there, and for a variety of reasons. If you want to do it right, this is the place to be.

Also, A search on "Doc Mercury" produced one post...yours.

2. Who said anything about joining ANYTHING? *I'M* not a member nor did I even suggest that you join.

The link you provided, is to a "join our membership" page and I can not get past it.

3. Who said anything about any $20 --or 20Ē or that matter? I merely said that I picked it up on Doc's site.

"taken from his site"
1 Year For $19.95
DOES NOT REBILL

First of all, calling me a "rookie" is offensive to me (especially CAPITALIZING the YOU), especially when I have created my own .mpg files in premier, and "ALREADY KNEW" that you could use .mpgs instead of .jpgs. But on the other hand, as our fearless leader DVD2SVCD has been quoted as saying, "we are learning everyday", and "An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing" I will not be offended by being called a rookie.

Any ideas on what to search? i have searched every term describing this I can think of. And would really appreciate, any "Helpful" ideas.

Also since you are saying that it is a modified "dvd2svcd" picture, surely it wouldn't be wrong to post a link to it here, for the rest of us to use.

I would like to apologize to any of our members, who have just wasted their time reading this post, I hope my responses have been courteous, and not offensive. But if they are then I apologize for that as well...

factor2000 links to pay sites and advertising are not tolerated here. I am not saying you are advertising this site, only that it seems a little coincindental that you first come here asking for help on a problem and then suddenly you have the answer along with a link to a pay site to get the solution. Regardless of whether this Doc guy lets you get the stuff without paying your link requires it.

You have your answer on how what you want can be done in DVD2SVCD.

I only hope that you are here looking for a great DVD2SVCD forum and not to advertise something. If the first is true then welcome and I apologize for hinting that the second maybe true and if that is the case be aware that the forum rules strictly prohibit advertising software or a site here.
